Fan Palm

The fan palm was my choice for the 2007 OrigamiUSA design challenge, where the topic was to create an entire plant out of a single uncut square of paper. There are fan palm trees all over San Antonio, so I just found a good one and took a picture. The original folded model that I entered in the challenge did not have a color change, so I re-folded it in 2013 from the exact same crease pattern.

Paper used: A single un-cut square of back-coated mulberry tissue paper treated with methyl cellulose.
