In this course you will learn a range of techniques and strategies for how to teach online in an effective and pedagogically sound manner. You will learn how to teach online synchronously (in real time) via WhatsApp and video conferencing, and also asynchronously (not in real time). You will also learn about key educational concepts such as 21st century skills and the ‘4Cs’, Universal Design for Learning, and blended learning, and consider how these relate to your own online teaching context. Although this course uses primary and secondary EFAL (English as a First Additional Language) materials to demonstrate strategies and techniques, the online teaching principles and lesson structures are applicable to any subject and age group.
