Ingredients
10 lemons
1 bottle Everclear 750-ml
8 cups of milk
5 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of vanilla sugar
Tools
Peeler or Zester
Cheesecloth
Gallon jar with lid
3 – 1 Liter bottles
Directions
1. Peel or zest 10 lemons with an old-fashioned potato peeler or use a zester (yellow only, no white)
2. Place lemon peels/zest in a jar with the 750 ml of Everclear.
3. Make your vanilla Sugar – split a vanilla bean, in a jar of 1/2 cup sugar.
Let #1-3 sit at room temperature for 2 weeks.
After 2 weeks
4. separate peels/zest from the Everclear using the cheesecloth.
5.Warm 8 cups milk over medium heat.
6. stir the sugar and the vanilla sugar into the milk until dissolved.
7.Remove from the heat, for cooling.
7 In a gallon jar, combine the Everclear mixture with the milk and sugar.
8. Funnel into bottles
9.Store and chill in the freezer.
Serve chilled
