Chocolate Torte
Chocolate Torte – (Elise Urdang)
First Layer: (crust)
1 cup flour
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1 stick unsalted butter - Room Temperature
Combine & press into ungreased 9 x 12 pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 20 minutes.
Cool before adding second layer
Second Layer: Mix together
8 oz cream cheese at room temperature
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup cool whip
Careful spread over the 1st layer.
Chill for 1 to 2 hours.
Third layer: Mix together
2 - 3oz packages of instant chocolate pudding
3 cups cold milk
Blend above with electric mixer for 2 minutes.
Carefully spread over second layer.
Fourth Layer:
Spread remainder of cool whip from 8 oz package on
top of 3rd layer
Chill and Serve
