2 cups white sugar

4 eggs

2/3 cup honey

5 cups flour, sifted

2 teaspoons ground cloves

1/2 teaspoon soda

3/4 cup chopped nuts

1 small container mixed fruit

1. Beat together the sugar and 4 eggs.

2. Add and beat in the honey.

3. Add and beat in the flour, cloves and soda.

4. Add and beat in the nuts and mixed fruit.

5. Chill the dough well, then press it onto a cookie sheet with sides (jelly roll pan) which has been sprayed with non-stick agent. Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes.

Icing

2 cups brown sugar *

4 tablespoons flour

4 tablespoons butter or margarine

4 tablespoons milk

Cook the above ingredients for 3 minutes and beat until ready to spread.

* Mom uses part dark brown sugar, and part light. Suggests a bit more light than dark.
