Studio SON v2 running on the Atari Falcon
Studio SON
In 1995 Studio SON was released for the Atari Falcon, possibly inspired by SON for the Atari ST, although this is not categoric by far. Like DAME for the Falcon, Studio SON allowed D2D recording courtesy of the Falcon's DSP. Studio SON, a 2 track (real tracks) recorder with up to 32,000 virtual tracks, can record at 16-bit up to a sample rate of 49.17 kHz internal to the Falcon. It can utilise many of the external analogue and digital interfaces made for the Falcon, served as inspiration to V-Trax, and later became available for the PC platform. Studio SON reached v2.00 in 1999, and signed off at version 2.093b in 2007 as freeware.
