Pro Series 16

Pro Series 16 by AVR was introduced in 1991. Of course it was successor to Pro Series 12, however unlike its predecessor the GUI had undergone a significant overhaul, and now resembled the Atari's Graphical Environment Manager (GEM). It is a 16-bit mono sampler, capable of sampling frequencies of between 16 to 44.1 kHz. The ADC connects to both the cartridge and Parallel port. It is likely that it was influenced by AVR's A16S, announced at the 1989 Earl's Court PC Show in London, which however is believed not to have been released. This is by no means conclusive, but I never saw the A16S for sale in the UK at the time, or for re-sale to date, so it's the only conclusion that can be reached presently! As seen below, it also clearly inspired Replay 16.
