SAM

SAM, a German 8-bit sampler introduced in 1987 by Martin Lück and Hans-Dieter Zucht for the ST. It is an interesting piece of software which went through a few iterations, ending in SAM 4.7 in 1992. The latter was distributed by Maxon, and incorporates some useful sample editing functions, including some nice effects from Echo to VCF, Vocoder, Modulation, Offbeat, Chorus and Scratch amongst others. You can also generate your own sounds via Additive Synthesis, as well as create songs via its Sequence Mode. No ADC was included, however it can support such devices via both the parallel and cartridge ports. In SAM 4.7, it can support 8-bit sampling up to a sample rate of 68 KHz.
