Since its establishment in 1951, the Warabiza has been dedicated to performing and preserving Japanese traditional dance and folk culture in Akita. In the diverse cultural landscape of inter-regional Japan, developing an aesthetic and communal philosophy that resonates with the local populace is crucial. Its headquarters is in Semboku, where Lake Tazawako and Kankunodate are located.

"Dignity of human beings"
Warabiza's performances consist of a mixture of traditional Japanese folklore with traditional Japanese theatre art. Furthermore, by integrating traditional festivals and folk music with contemporary elements like Western Musicals, Warabiza refurbishes a strong sense of community in Akita and appeals to the region's outward image. The company views the process of community-building as the core strength of its work, emphasizing the acknowledgment and importance of community to reaffirm deep connections to the land, culture, and people.
"Beauty of our lives"
Warabiza exists in the “Akita Art Village,” which provides services and activities like Onsen (hot springs), art craft experiences, Taiko experiences, and many more related to traditional art and culture. Warabiza contributes to the local community through its unique performances, conducting workshops, and collaborating with schools. They even have conducted several performances overseas, enabling "glocal" contribution!
