0:00

what's up everyone welcome back to this

0:02

channel and in this video we're gonna

0:04

finally talk about which no contours you

0:06

need to build your own sauce uh what is

0:08

a sauce oh my god if you have this

0:10

question definitely watch this video and

0:13

the whole point of this video is so that

0:14

you don't waste your time looking at all

0:16

of these tools that are out there

0:17

because there are many because i did

0:19

that already and trust me it is a waste

0:21

of time if you use the wrong tools so in

0:23

this video i'm gonna show you only the

0:24

tools that you need to look at in order

0:26

to build a proper sauce that will run

0:28

for a long time and if you are a

0:30

returning viewer of this channel then

0:32

you know how it works whenever you hear

0:34

something interesting in this video then

0:36

you hit the like you subscribe and also

0:38

you hit the notification bell but if you

0:40

don't hear anything interesting and the

0:41

video is boring you don't do that makes

0:43

a lot of sense right so this is how we

0:44

do it over here i also want to mention

0:46

that down in the video description you

0:47

will find a link where you can join the

0:49

slack community that we have you can go

0:51

there and talk to like-minded people and

0:53

also you can reach me there if you have

0:55

any questions about no code about how to

0:56

build things or in general how to run a

0:59

business one more not so small tradition

1:01

on this channel is that i get my coffee

1:03

before during and after each video so

1:05

make sure to get your drink and let's

1:07

get started

1:11

[Music]

What is a SaaS

1:14

okay first of all let's understand what

1:16

a sas business is the abbreviation of

1:19

sar stands for software as a service and

1:21

that is usually a software that is

1:22

somewhere in the cloud in the internet

1:24

and that people pay for monthly or

1:26

yearly so that they can have access to

1:28

the features of that software if they

1:30

want more features or more access then

1:32

they pay a higher subscription very

1:34

simple and that will generate you

1:35

recurring revenues and that's what

1:37

everyone is looking for with that money

1:39

you can hire people you can spend it on

1:41

marketing to get even more customers

1:43

that pay you even more recurring

1:44

revenues ta-da

1:46

there you go sas business is the best

1:48

business model on the planet and that's

1:50

why everyone is striving to create their

1:52

own sas but the question is how do you

1:54

build a sauce especially when you don't

1:56

have any developers yes yes yes you came

1:59

to the right channel to figure out the

2:00

answer to that question examples of very

2:03

successful sales businesses include

2:05

monday.com canva slack vero notion and

2:10

many many more that you might even pay

2:12

subscription for right now and the rise

2:14

of sas started sometime in the early

2:16

2000s when people started to understand

2:19

that the internet is not just there for

2:21

ugly websites pictures of cats and

2:23

animated gifs instead people started to

2:25

understand that software doesn't have to

2:26

be installed on the machine like back in

2:28

the day instead you can simply use it

2:30

online and you can log in you can pay

2:32

for that and it's always up to date

2:34

because it's online right and that's

2:36

exactly the service part of software as

2:39

a service so it's online it's a service

2:41

that you can access whenever you have

2:43

internet connection pretty cool pretty

2:45

convenient and that's why it works so

2:47

well okay that's all great but what

2:49

makes a sauce a sauce what kind of

2:51

elements do you need in order to create

2:53

a sauce and we're getting closer to

2:55

talking about the tools that you need so

The 3 Features

2:57

first of all it's pretty clear that

2:59

there is only one software that everyone

3:02

is using right so you need to have login

3:04

right and the software needs to

3:05

understand that if i'm logged in i see

3:08

something else then if you are logged in

3:10

so when we search for a tool we need to

3:11

make sure that that feature exists in

3:13

that local tool right the second thing

3:15

every sas needs is a payment module

3:17

where you can charge people money right

3:19

for your features and the third element

3:21

that you need is a feature where you can

3:23

show and hide features of your own sas

3:26

depending on what they're paying for if

3:28

you put all of these together you can

3:30

manage to create a sas pretty easily

3:32

okay but which tools are good for mobile

3:34

apps which tools are good for web apps

3:35

for automations marketplaces and so on

3:38

let's check it out when it comes to

Tools for Mobile Apps

3:40

mobile applications my favorite tool and

3:42

i think the one that will not waste any

3:44

of your time is

3:46

adalo.com i've seen people build crazy

3:49

things with adalo although it looks

3:50

simple it can do a lot for you for

3:53

example you can build a job platform a

3:55

social network a children's learning

3:57

application and even an e-commerce store

4:00

like we discussed before we need a

4:02

feature to login users and as you can

4:04

see here there is a database for users

4:05

they can all log in there is a feature

4:07

for that built in from the start and

4:09

like we discussed before you need some

4:11

payment method to charge people money

4:12

for your features and that's given here

4:14

with this component called stripe

4:16

subscription so it's stripe integration

4:18

into adalo where you can charge people

4:21

money on a monthly or yearly basis and

4:23

you can change the visibility over

4:25

component if you want that feature to be

4:26

hidden from people that didn't pay for

4:28

it for example by using the change

4:29

visibility feature adalo offers with all

4:32

of that that means you can build a sas

4:33

with adalo and people have done that

4:35

already as i have shown you before so

4:37

that is definitely my opinion the best

4:39

tool for building your first mobile

4:41

application to get started with and

4:42

while adalo is my favorite tool for

4:44

building native mobile applications that

4:46

you can upload to the app store of ios

4:48

and android draft build over here is

4:50

also amazing they also create native

4:53

applications by also using react native

4:55

code in the background they have more

4:57

features it takes a bit longer to learn

4:59

and also the pricing is a bit higher but

5:01

with that you can build way more

5:02

complicated applications than you can

5:04

build with andalo still i recommend you

5:06

to start with adalo if you are new to

5:08

this field and if you're happy to be a

5:10

developer or a very experienced app

5:12

creator and you want to build the most

5:14

complex crazy mobile application that

5:16

you have thought of in a while then most

5:18

likely you will need flutter flow

5:20

because it has all the features that you

5:22

can imagine in the background it runs on

5:24

flutter which is the best cross platform

5:27

development framework and flutterflow

5:29

has created this user interface where

5:30

you can drag and drop the features onto

5:32

the screen you can even download the

5:34

code if you need that and then you can

5:35

continue coding on your machine but you

5:37

can also deploy the app to the app

5:39

stores directly from flutterflow having

5:42

said that this is definitely the most

5:43

complex option that you can choose if

5:45

you want to build a mobile app but there

5:46

you go those are the best tools that you

5:48

can use to build a mobile sas moving on

Tools for Web Apps

5:51

to the web what is the best tool to

5:53

build a sas for the web well it has to

5:56

be bubble because bubble is crazy

5:59

awesome it has all the features that you

6:01

can imagine the tool exists for over 10

6:03

years and yes that is good and bad at

6:05

the same time and i've used bubble a lot

6:08

and it saves my life multiple times for

6:10

example one time i was running the

6:12

biggest hackathon in the world called eu

6:14

versus virus with the european

6:15

commission and they wanted to launch

6:17

some crazy mechanism for team forming

6:20

and voting and all this stuff in just a

6:22

few days and it was simply impossible to

6:24

code it so the only option i had is to

6:26

go to bubble and use that and it solved

6:28

the problem perfectly in one day

6:30

actually four hours i was able to create

6:32

exactly the application that we needed

6:34

honestly i don't know what i would have

6:35

done without bubble so i have to

6:37

recommend bubble to you because i know

6:38

it is very powerful so as you can see

6:40

here bubble has a nice designer where

6:42

you can create your application and i

6:44

know it looks crazy here but when you

6:45

render it it will take all this data

6:47

from the database the way that you told

6:49

him to and you can even click together

6:51

queries and filter items is really cool

6:53

and of course you can have multiple

6:54

pages that you can jump to and you can

6:56

have components that you can reuse and

6:58

of course bubble has a database where

7:01

you can create different databases that

7:03

you need it comes of course with user

7:04

login which is the first thing we need

7:06

in the user interface you can of course

7:08

show and hide elements depending on your

7:10

needs and of course you have payment

7:12

methods by installing the stripe plugin

7:14

over here which helps you to build the

7:16

sas and actually charge money on a

7:18

recurring basis and on bubbles website

7:21

you can find some more inspiration of

7:22

what you can build with bubble by

7:24

checking out the showcases but i can

7:26

tell you that there is one showcase that

7:28

is not on that side which is coins which

7:30

is a tool that helps you pay back your

7:32

loans faster that connects to your bank

7:34

account if you're in the us it works

7:36

it's really cool and that first version

7:38

of this product was built with bubble in

7:40

just a few weeks instead of months and

7:41

of course now they have built it with

7:43

code but that's a topic of another video

7:46

on when to use no code and when to not

7:48

use no code anymore so make sure to

7:50

subscribe and another sas that has

7:52

started with bubble and is still on

7:53

bubble is called incomey which is a tool

7:56

that helps you send proposals and

7:57

invoices to your customers and manage

7:59

your customers in one single place and

8:02

why this is so amazing that it's built

8:03

with bubble is because you might expect

8:05

that it's hard to create proposals and

8:07

invoices and send them out per email and

8:09

manage all of that stuff in bubble but

8:11

hey there are plugins for these things

8:12

you just need to learn how to do it and

8:14

you can see that this is a sas because

8:15

if you go to the pricing page they will

8:17

tell you that this software costs 10 per

8:19

month and you get access to all of these

8:21

features of course they have only one

8:23

pricing plan so they don't need to hide

8:24

and show features for anyone so they

8:26

made their life a bit easier but they

8:27

could if they wanted of course because

8:29

bubble has that feature so i recommend

8:31

going to bubbles academy over here and

8:33

starting to learn how it works because

8:34

definitely this can help you get started

8:36

super quickly especially when you're

8:38

doing a sas for the web and even if you

8:41

want to do a sas for mobile and you

8:43

don't know how to do the mobile version

8:44

of it because that might be more

8:45

complicated i still recommend you start

8:47

with bubble you check out the market if

8:49

people actually want your product and

8:51

you do the mobile version later you're

8:53

welcome and there cannot be a tool

8:55

summary without mentioning webflow now

8:57

webflow is just a website builder but it

PART - 2

9:00

happens to be the best website builder

9:02

on the planet well in my opinion at

9:04

least but webflow is not there to

9:06

collect money or to show and hide

9:08

features for you because they just don't

9:10

have that they are just the website

9:11

creator maybe there will be more in the

9:12

future but for now they're not but if

9:15

you combine webflow with member stack

9:17

then you can have these features added

9:20

to your webflow website where you can

9:22

hide websites if people didn't pay a

9:24

subscription for getting access to some

9:26

content that you want and also member

9:28

stack can charge one time and also

9:30

recurring so this combination can be

9:32

very exciting if you have a very simple

9:34

sauce where you just want to give people

9:35

access to information that otherwise

9:37

they wouldn't see for example videos or

9:40

texts or templates or something like

9:41

this or images and then you just build

9:43

it with webflow where you can create the

9:45

coolest websites on the planet and then

9:47

you just give people access using member

9:49

stack integration if you want to know

9:51

how that works make sure to subscribe to

9:53

this channel now many of you out there

Tools for Marketplaces

9:55

whenever i talk to you you have an idea

9:57

that ultimately is a marketplace where

9:59

you have somebody offering something and

10:02

someone else searching for that and

10:03

paying for that something right it can

10:05

be services it can be pictures it can be

10:08

whatever it is courses so that is called

10:10

a marketplace while you can build a

10:12

marketplace with bubble no problem you

10:14

have to build it right you have to click

10:16

it together and it will take a little

10:17

bit of time to build a marketplace now

10:19

sharetribe that you can see here on the

10:21

screen is already a marketplace that

10:23

covers all of these use cases and it's

10:25

definitely no code you can just simply

10:27

turn it on you can brand it and make it

10:30

your own and you can have people

10:32

offering things and you can have other

10:33

people finding and paying for those

10:35

things okay but how can you make money

10:37

with this pretty simple share tribe has

10:39

a feature where you can define how much

10:40

percentage you get from each sale that

10:43

happens on your marketplace pretty cool

10:45

right only problem is that once you're

10:47

live with this you don't have any users

10:49

on the platform but anyway i'm

10:51

digressing that's a problem of almost

10:53

any sas but it's a bit more complicated

10:56

when it comes to marketplaces because

10:57

marketplaces need two types of people to

11:00

join in order for the whole thing to

11:01

work whereas this sauce for example that

11:03

we were talking about before doesn't

11:05

need two type of people to join in order

11:06

for the sales to work they just need

11:08

freelancers let's say they sign up boom

11:10

they make money no problem but when it

11:12

comes to a marketplace you need two

11:14

types of people to join right the ones

11:16

that offer a service and they want to

11:17

search for a service and then when they

11:19

finally pay for that service then you

11:21

make money so a marketplace is a way

11:23

longer and more complicated thing to

11:25

build but it can pay off a lot so make

11:28

sure to subscribe to this channel

11:29

because i will talk about these things

11:30

as well i don't want to digress too much

11:32

because in this video it's about which

11:34

tools you can use but then you still

11:35

need the strategy to launch a full

11:38

business as well so that's not gonna go

11:40

away just make sure to not forget that

11:43

building a software even with no code is

11:45

just one step of many in order to have a

11:48

business that actually makes money if

11:50

you start with a community and you

11:52

already have followers on twitter or

11:53

youtube or whatever then that's a great

11:56

start and you should definitely consider

11:58

building your own sauce quickly but

12:00

let's get back to the scope of this

Must Have Tools

12:02

video in this next section i want to

12:04

talk to you about tools that you will

12:05

combine with the tools that i showed you

12:07

before for building your sas for example

12:10

you have airtable where you can put data

12:12

and you can nicely manage it you can

12:14

automate it in any way you like it's

12:16

very very powerful product now airtable

12:18

is around for pretty long time it's

12:20

ultra popular i think it's the most

12:21

popular database product anyway out

12:23

there and it has a lot of features for

12:25

visualization storing sending automated

12:27

emails workflows a lot of things okay

12:29

but is it like a spreadsheet like google

12:31

sheets or excel well not quite because

12:34

sure it has columns and rows but it also

12:37

has features that makes it a real

12:39

database for example you can upload

12:40

files into lines people upload some

12:43

attachments right so they have to go

12:44

somewhere and also you have proper line

12:46

ids now with a spreadsheet like google

12:48

sheets you can't do that where would you

12:50

put the file you have to upload it

12:51

somewhere else and put the link into the

12:53

google sheet to that file that's not

12:55

great you want to put the file directly

12:57

there also airtable because it's a real

12:59

database has reference feature where you

13:01

can reference one database in another

13:03

database and basically link them

13:05

together and get data from one into

13:07

another based on proper line ids and

13:10

this is a feature that you will need

13:11

very early on when you use airtable

13:13

simply because it makes your life way

13:14

easier so make sure to learn about that

13:16

when you use airtable long story short

13:18

would you use airtable to store your sas

13:21

data from your users or not well that

13:23

depends for example there is a tool

13:25

called software which uses airtable as

13:27

their main database so yeah sure in that

13:29

case all your data from your sas is

13:31

inside of airtable but if you use adalo

13:34

or you use bubble then your sas data is

13:36

in those databases from those products

13:38

which is totally fine but you can use

13:40

airtable for example when you do

13:41

marketing and you want people to sign up

13:43

for your early access or something then

13:45

data has to go somewhere it will go into

13:47

air table where you can then automate it

13:49

nicely with all the features that i was

13:51

just talking about the next tool we're

13:53

gonna talk about is a must-have if

13:55

you're building your sas with no code

13:58

and of course i'm talking about zapier

14:00

with zapier you can chain tools together

14:02

to do things in sequence for example you

14:05

can say if something happens in my air

14:07

table then also send a message to my

14:09

mailchimp and it can go further and you

14:11

can say that if something happens in

14:12

your mailchimp then that will trigger

14:14

something to happen in your adalo or

14:16

bubble sas product as an example let's

14:19

say that someone is subscribing or

14:20

unsubscribing from your mailchimp

14:22

newsletter now you would want your adalo

14:24

or bubble to know about that so those

14:26

applications can then show a button to

14:28

re-subscribe how do you do that simple

14:30

you just connect mailchimp with your

14:33

adalo or your bubble database using

14:35

zapier in the middle so you just simply

14:37

say okay whenever something happens in

14:39

mailchimp here

14:41

then i will let my bubble database know

14:43

about what's going on there and you can

14:45

say if someone basically unsubscribed

14:48

right a new unsubscriber let's say then

14:51

you know modify a thing and then in

14:53

bubble you would basically just put a

14:55

flag to understand that this user is not

14:56

subscribed anymore so in your sas you

14:59

can show the right thing and you can

15:00

motivate the user to subscribe again

15:02

just an idea of how you can use zapier

15:04

and there are many many more ideas

15:07

because zapier has an abundance of

15:09

support for tools so if you go here to

15:11

explore you can see all the tools that

15:12

they support over here and you can all

15:15

chain them together and meanwhile all

15:16

these tools they take care of their own

15:18

integration into zapier so they make

15:20

sure it's always up to date and working

15:22

so it's not zapier anymore coding these

15:23

integrations like they did in the

15:25

beginning instead these tools themselves

15:27

make sure they exist in zapier because

15:29

it's good for their business and that's

15:31

why you can use them with ease after

15:34

praising zapier so much it's actually

15:35

not my preferred tool for chaining

15:37

together other tools instead it's make

15:40

and that tool was called integromat just

15:42

a few months ago but it got acquired and

15:44

then the name changed i really like the

15:47

way that make is very visual and shows

15:49

you these nice bubbles here that show

15:51

you how data is flowing from left to

15:53

right and how it's actually progressing

15:55

through the chain and you can click on

15:57

each of these bubbles and it shows you

15:58

where it is right now is it stuck or not

16:00

which data has it already processed it's

16:03

very nicely done i like the

16:04

visualization i'm very visual person so

16:07

that's why i prefer make over zapier

16:09

meanwhile make has all the great

16:11

integrations as well some of the

16:12

integrations are even better for example

16:14

the one for adalo is way better in make

16:17

than the one in zapier also what i

16:19

didn't find in zebra and maybe i didn't

16:21

find it because i wasn't looking good

16:22

enough is this multiplexer here this

16:24

green dot here because it is able to

16:27

send one data into multiple directions

16:30

at the same time so if i want to store

16:31

it in a database and i want to send an

16:33

email at the same time then i can do

16:35

that i don't have to set up two

16:36

different zaps that's how they are

16:38

called in zapier instead i just have

16:39

this nice green multiplexer here and

16:41

it's very visual and it's very easy to

16:42

see what's going on so those are some

16:44

features that i think are power features

16:46

that i do need for my sas and for my

16:49

software that i've built with no code

16:51

having said that you choose the tool

16:52

that you like try both i think you can't

16:55

waste your time with either one while

16:56

these tools are amazing i would

16:58

recommend that you choose just one of

17:00

those two make sure to check them out

17:02

before play around and choose the one

17:03

that you like because otherwise your

17:05

business logic is spread around make and

17:07

zapier and you don't even know anymore

17:09

how things are connected after a few

17:10

months you forget that you have some

17:12

stuff in zapier that doesn't work

17:14

anymore with some other stuff that you

17:15

did in integromat because they basically

17:18

overlap each other so if you can avoid

17:20

it stay only with one tool and make sure

17:22

to just invest one hour for each tool

17:24

check it out and choose the one that you

Final thoughts

17:26

like better so there you have it guys a

17:28

list of all the tools that i will use to

17:30

build a sauce but the question is how

17:32

would you build that sauce step by step

17:34

well for that you have to subscribe to

17:36

this channel and make sure to hit the

17:38

bell to not miss that video because when

17:40

it comes out then your mind will be

17:42

blown away

17:44

so make sure to not miss if you want to

17:46

keep learning and improve your skills in

17:47

the no code space then make sure to

17:48

check out this video where i show you

17:50

how you can build an app like instagram

17:52

step by step and i'll see you in the

How To Create An App Like Instagram - Easy, Fast, Anyone Can Do It - No Coding Required

TRANSCRIPT

PART - 1

0:00

hello world how is it going out there are you feeling bored at home already are you thinking of maybe learning some

0:05

new skills so you came to the right place because in this video i will show you how you can create instagram

0:10

without coding anything sounds crazy it is crazy but it's possible check this

0:16

out we'll build this application today where you can create a profile log in

0:21

follow other users post photos get notifications when they post something new

0:26

and of course edit your profile and add a profile picture it took me only 15 minutes to build this application

0:32

but this video is a bit longer because i drink a lot of coffee but also because i'm explaining you concepts that

0:37

are important to know for such kind of applications and if you don't mind hit the like button so that

0:42

youtube understands that this video is interesting and it will help my channel and also pump up the video to the top of the

0:49

search results so it can be found by other people that have the same questions as you have so

0:54

without further ado let's check it out hey guys today we'll build an app like instagram

0:59

stick around till the end because i will share with you some tips and tricks on how you can save money with a dollar towards the end of the video

1:06

but first get your coffee and let's get started this is the app structure that we will

1:12

create today let me show you all the screens that were built and then we start from the

1:17

scratch by building a completely new application and creating those screens step by step so you have the sign up and

1:24

login screens which are created by adalo automatically which is really awesome which means that adalo has a full

1:30

support for users which comes in very very handy

1:36

and then you see all the other screens here on this side that we have created ourselves for example the home screen

1:42

where you can see your feed and see your own posts but also posts from people that you're following

1:48

a screen for exploring new user content and following new users

1:53

then a screen for looking at the user's profile and to see what other stuff they have posted and to follow and

1:58

unfollow them a screen to see your own profile and to edit it and last but not least

2:05

maybe most important a screen to post a new photo okay let's go ahead and create a new

2:10

application from the scratch so you see how that works out

Create a fresh new app

2:16

we create a new app native mobile app because that's what we want to create

2:22

and the blank one no presets give it a name let's call it

2:28

instagram

2:34

okay our dollar is hard at work creating this application and the first thing we get is a sign up and a login screen and even

2:41

a bonus a home screen let me show you what that means so a sign up screen if you click on this

2:47

one here you see it is classified as a welcome screen and the welcome

2:52

screen is something special it is the first screen that user can see without being logged in so that's

2:58

important because that's where they land you can choose another screen to be that home screen

3:04

but this one makes sense for us the login screen on the other hand is classified as a normal screen which

3:10

doesn't mean anything special other than well it's there and you can get to it only when you link to it and there is another screen which is the

3:16

home screen which has this home icon on top and is classified as a home screen which

3:22

means that this is the first screen the user can see after logging in okay having said that this is actually

3:28

pretty important to know because when you create your own screens you might want to land on a different one and you can

3:34

just go ahead and pick your own home screen if you like so the first thing we want to really do

Create the data structure

3:39

here to create is the data structure and the reason for that is adalu is pretty smart

3:45

later on when we have the data structure to pre-populate a lot of things in our forms and in the drop-downs and

3:52

so on so in order to take advantage of that we will go ahead and create the data

3:57

structure for users and for posts because that's what we want to create today and let's dive right in okay so the

4:04

database that adalo keeps is here in this menu and it is

4:09

hosting collections collections are basically tables with data inside so let's see users is

4:16

already there it comes by default and a user has an email address a password

4:22

that's pretty handy a username which is also cool for us and a full name great we're gonna add

4:28

here a profile picture

4:34

because we want that picture to appear later on in the user profile okay i'm closing this and i'm creating a

4:39

new collection for posts so posts are the ones that we want to see

4:44

in the stream they have obviously an image some kind of text description and they belong to a user so let's

4:51

create that all right adalo automatically creates this name field here

4:57

which we don't need really so i will just keep it around but not make use of it

5:03

i will now create the photo field which is an image

5:09

and we create the description field which is a text

5:15

the description field is there for the user to put some kind of text next to the image and we now have to create something more

5:22

special which is the relation to the user who posted that so we have to know which user did that

5:27

so that we later on can filter things out to belong to us or to some other people so here a dollar has a feature it's

5:33

called relationships and we want to relate this post to another user

5:38

and adalo says cool but how are those two related so let's go through the options and

5:43

see what we have to choose here so imagine here a user can have multiple posts sounds true a post belongs to one

5:51

user also true and this is actually the option we need but let's go through the other ones to understand the difference

5:58

a user can only have one post no that's wrong next one a post can have multiple users

6:06

nah that's also wrong first one it is it is important to choose the right option because a dollar then understands how

6:12

your data is related and it will then give you very good suggestions in the dropdowns

6:18

to help you out all right user it's a good name

6:24

let's stick to that okay uh we forgot two things that are actually pretty important we have to store somewhere if you're

6:30

following a user and if somebody's following you so those two fields will be created in

6:35

the user's collection and this is also a relation so a user is related to another user in some kind of

6:42

way well in the way of following or being followed so what we're doing now is we're creating another relation here

6:48

adalo immediately wants to know how those two are related with each other so let's see let's say one of those

6:55

words is called follower so a follower can have multiple other

7:01

users that it's following yeah that's true and belongs to one follower no that's not really true so it's not the right

7:07

one a follower can only have one user well that's also wrong so a follower

7:14

can have multiple users that is true and the user can have multiple followers that is also true so well

7:20

it's a many-to-many relation kind of expected because of course you can follow many users and many users

7:26

can follow other users and you so it's a many-to-many relation this is what we choose here

7:32

and we go ahead and change the name here of the field to follow us

7:40

so those are the people that follow you and we create exactly the same thing again for following those are the users i'm

7:48

following okay cool now we have the full data set

7:55

set up and we can go ahead and create the visuals but first how can humanity

8:00

live without coffee on the home screen we want to show a list of posts they will have a photo and they will

Create HOME screen

8:07

have a text so let's see what dalo has to offer

8:13

offers multiple components that can display lists and you can see there is a list like

8:18

that looks more like contacts phone contacts another one for images card lists horizontal list even by the

8:26

way this is new and a custom list where you can go pretty nuts and create your custom implementation of it but let's take the

8:32

card list today we place it here actually let's put it on top we place it here on the home

8:37

screen and we change it to show only one column and we tell it because we already

8:44

created the collection we tell it what to display and we want it to display posts

8:50

okay that's pretty cool but we don't want it to display all the posts we want to display only

8:57

posts from the users i'm following wow that was easy right of course we

9:03

don't follow anyone yet but you will see the benefit very soon let's also make sure that the newest posts are on top

9:10

newest to oldest by default the list does not update itself when a new post is coming in for that

9:17

you will need to switch tabs that's not so cool so we want to enable the auto refresh feature just make sure if you have

9:23

multiple lists on the page to only enable this for one of them otherwise adalo says there might be a

9:29

performance problem next thing we want to do is to tell the list what to display exactly the media is already chosen correctly

9:35

automatically by adalo which is what i mentioned before once it knows what data it is it can do a lot of magic for you

9:41

so it is the current post photo perfect we will change the title to contain the

9:48

post description we will turn off the subtitle and

9:55

we will put the username here in the body and i want to use add

10:00

username it's basically like twitter or something so at the user who

10:05

posted this thing username and by the way even if you have a turn off title

10:11

feature here it doesn't work you cannot turn off the title okay the next thing we want to do is we want to add a menu on the bottom so you

10:18

can switch between screens again adalo has something for that it's in navigation and it's called tab

10:23

bar just drag and drop it in here and we have a tab bar now we go ahead

10:28

and configure it the first tab is home that's fine we will keep that the second tab is called search we will

10:35

rename it to explore the idea is to explore other people's content and to follow them

10:41

and the third type should be the profile tab and there is already one in this case it's the fourth one so what

10:47

we do is we simply turn off this one and turn off the last one and we are perfectly set up although

10:55

i do want to change the title of this tab and i want to make it say who i am

11:01

who is the logged in user's username which is perfectly possible with this magic text here

11:07

and it wouldn't say just profile instead it would say my username which also shows me that i'm logged in

11:13

with that user which is pretty handy the next thing we want to add to the app is the button that allows you to post a

11:19

new photo that should be a floating button so let's see what adalo has to offer

11:24

we scroll down to the buttons list and we find something called an action button we drag it in and it's

11:31

already the right color we make sure it's centered and we style

11:36

it by choosing a photo icon

11:42

we can't link it to anything yet because we don't have another screen but we'll do it now so the next screen

11:47

we create will be the screen to post a new photo so we go over to screens

11:53

and we say add the screen and we want to add a form screen i mean we could build this

11:59

ourselves but adalo will do some magic and it's a bit easier so click on that

12:04

and give it the name of post photo there it is you can see that i

Create POST PHOTO screen

12:11

have created this application a few times okay post photo we click on this form

12:18

and then we tell adalo again what kind of stuff should be created when this form is submitted well opposed

12:24

and boom immediately it will populate the fields that we need although we don't need the name field so

12:30

we can go here and just delete it and also i want description field to be

12:37

a multi-line field and maybe i want to change the submit

12:43

button to say just post and that's it this is

12:48

how easy it is to create a form that posts a photo one more thing you should know what kind of magic adalu did is it

12:55

created here some actions on the post button which well creates a new post so it's

13:02

kind of happening automatically but also it sends us back to the previous screen where we came from which

13:07

is great shall we test it of course but first all right remember that we don't have a

13:15

user yet so we will first need to create the user and then we can post a photo sign up

13:21

this is the first screen if you remember this is a welcome screen so there you go

13:27

[Music] and i forgot something so we don't

13:33

really want the user to put the full name here instead we want them to put a username because that's what we care

13:38

about in the whole app so we just go over here click on this form

13:44

and we change the fields we remove the full name and we add the username

13:52

and it's fine it's required also perfect so let's do this thing again

13:57

oh i'm lucky pre-populated so i will choose here user one as my nickname just so that it's easier

14:05

to recognize who is logged in sign up all right cool so of course

14:10

there is nothing to see so let's post a photo oh i didn't link this button yay

14:16

let's go here and do that add an action and link it to post photo

14:23

screen and you can see that there is an error now going from this screen to that one so that we can go from one to the other

14:31

let's try this again this time i'm already logged in

14:38

all right choose a photo of course on your phone you can shoot that photo with your camera

14:45

and you don't see anything which is on purpose because remember you see only stuff that

14:50

is being posted by some other users but you're not following anyone yet let's

14:56

change this list to display all posts and not just the post of the users i'm following for a few

15:01

minutes to test this out click on the list and select all posts filter

15:06

all posts so let's see now

15:12

there you go you have the photo you have the text we're good next up let's create the explore screen

Create EXPLORE screen

15:18

where we can find content from other users and then create the user profile screen where we

15:23

can click the buttons to follow them okay so for that i create a new screen

15:29

and screen i will take a blank screen and create the screen and i want to

15:36

arrange the screen to be above this one because it seems logical to me

15:41

so now let's add the elements that we need first we need the bar on top it's called the amp bar but hey let's copy it from here copy

15:48

command c and then click on the screen here command v and just change

15:54

the title say let's call it explorer

16:01

and also we have to give the whole screen the same name because later on we will have to choose it from dropdowns

16:07

and it's just easier to find that way and let's say that we do not want users

16:12

to log out from that screen so we turn this icon off completely next we want to add some text on the top of

16:19

the screen to tell the user what is the purpose of that screen that we're building which is to show

16:24

content of other users and to allow exploration we drag it in here we zoom in a bit here

16:30

by the way i'm clicking ctrl and then scrolling with my mouse this zooms in and out

16:37

and i want this text to be centered and i want it to say explore

16:43

new content and follow

16:48

users okay something like that and what we want to do

16:54

is we want to also show a list of posts but in this case so i'm copying

17:01

this one command c command v but in this case it should be not showing all the posts

17:07

but instead only posts do not belong to yourself because you don't want to explore your own stuff because that is easy right you can do

17:13

that anyway later on in your profile but you want to just see posts from other users

17:19

so we drag this in and then we make sure that we filter so instead of saying all posts

17:26

we're saying all posts but we want to filter that the user's email

17:32

address from that post is not equal to my user address to

17:37

the logged in user's email address so this way we will just see posts from other people we'll

17:42

test that later on and the last thing to add here is the menu on the bottom so we can just copy

17:48

it here and click into the screen paste it and we now want to make sure that the second tab here is illuminated

17:55

so we go here and say illuminate this one and we also want to make sure that the first tab is linked to go

18:03

to the home screen right because it's the home icon so we just say link to home and here on the bottom

18:11

we say the second tab should link to the explorer screen

18:20

all right let's check it out preview okay we see our own stuff we go to

18:26

explore and we don't see anything that's actually good because we shouldn't see our own stuff anyway

18:33

and here we're pretty cool we can post a photo we can see the explorer so we should maybe create a

18:39

second user so that we can play around and just see how that plays together when we follow

18:45

and unfollow somebody i think it's best we go to preview and we log out and we create another

18:52

user called user2 user two will see user ones post because

18:58

without not filtering anything and in explore it should also appear very good we're getting there the next

Create USER PROFILE screen

19:03

screen we want to create is the user profile screen where you can see other posts from that same user and

19:10

you can see profile picture and you can follow and unfollow that specific user you get to that screen

19:16

by clicking on his posts okay but this time we copy the explore screen so we don't

19:21

have to create each element from the scratch click on the explorer title command c

19:27

command v and there you go let's change the title of that screen to say user profile

19:36

click done all right we will not need the title here and we

19:42

also well we want to show this in a two column view to explore new content of that user and

19:49

we just move this down a little bit to create some space on the top for the profile picture and the follow buttons

19:56

and we will also not need this menu on the bottom okay next thing we

20:03

create the profile picture just drag in an image place it on the

20:08

top here and well let's style it first of all we

20:14

want the rounding to be completely circle circular and we choose

20:19

120 times 120 pixels and with shift down and right on the

20:25

keyboard you can jump the same amount of pixels down and to the right so it's it has a

20:30

bit of space from the top and from the left in order to tell adalo which picture to show and also which posts to display

20:36

we need to first create a link to that screen whenever we click on on a photo on from the stream because

20:42

then it will give a reference to that new screen of that post and we can then take from that post the

20:48

user and display that user's profile so let's do that we we go to the

20:54

previous two screens and we created an action a link a click action so here

21:00

add action link to user profile and you see there is now a new line

21:06

created and because we did that you will see in a second and we do the same here by the way link

21:13

to user profile because we did that now adalo knows

21:18

which reference it is so i can now go ahead here and say well i want to show from the current

21:26

post it was clicked on the user's profile picture so that's pretty cool

21:31

and i love this feature and we also have to say what to show when the picture is missing because maybe a user didn't put a profile

21:37

picture yet well in that case we choose a placeholder and i have prepared one here

21:43

just some image that is acting like a placeholder to make it look good even if a picture

21:49

is missing okay so that's cool we can do the same with the posts we can say well we want the posts to be displayed from

21:56

the the current clicked post users post so this will display only

22:02

all the posts from that person that i clicked on and we don't really need this filter

22:08

anymore here because well we want to show all the posts from that user that's fine okay

22:15

now we can move that up a bit okay the next thing is to create the follow and unfollow buttons and this is

22:21

super exciting so we create two buttons one button will be for following

PART - 2

22:26

and the other one for unfollowing

22:32

follow this user okay and now we duplicate this button command c command v and we snap it here on the bottom of

22:38

this one the reason for that is because when the button on top is hidden

22:44

then the button on the bottom will take its place and there will be no wasted white space

22:49

because adala will take care of that we will make sure that this looks good in a second so here we call it unfollow

22:57

and we make it tiny bit bigger to show the full text and also we go ahead and change the

23:02

color to something more red and maybe we want to change the icon to delete

23:10

so it's kind of it's a remove icon okay and now let's think about the logic for

23:17

those buttons so when i click on the follow button i want to follow that user that i'm looking on right now and by the way i

23:23

forgot to put the title here properly let's do that very quickly

23:31

add user name current posts users username again this whole screen shows

23:38

the user that i clicked on right okay so the follow button well if i

Create FOLLOW/UNFOLLOW logic

23:45

click on it i want to add to the database into let me show you which field that is

23:51

into the following into my follower list i want to add this this user so follow

23:59

means add an action update my profile which is the login user and add to the

24:06

following list so i'm following him and the current post user

24:12

okay pretty cool but don't forget he also wants to know who is following him

24:17

so we need to also update his profile and to add me to his follower list so let's do that as well

24:23

also when the follow button is clicked so updates not me this time but him

24:30

and add myself to his followers list

24:36

all right and i'll show you in a minute how that looks like in the database now let's do the exact opposite on the

24:42

unfollow button add action update myself

24:48

and remove this time remove him from my following list

24:57

and now let's also remove me from his list so we update him

25:06

and now i'm not anymore his follower okay that's cool before we test this out

25:13

i want to change this list again to show only posts from people that we are really following so that you can see

25:19

that this has any effect so here instead of all posts we choose again only posts from people i'm

25:26

following alright now let's test this thing out because we already built a lot of stuff let's see if that works

25:32

out don't forget the coffee okay first of all it's actually good that i don't see

25:38

any posts because i'm not following anyone yet so let's explore some content

25:43

okay cool i see user 1 i'm user 2 by the way cool i can click on his profile and i can see

25:51

that i can follow and unfollow this person of course we shouldn't see both buttons at the same time we will take care of that but let's try

25:58

that follow okay and somehow well oops i don't have

26:04

a button to go back so well hard to prove that this worked but let's add the button here

26:12

left icon menu let's say back here

26:20

and the action is to go back it's that easy but let's see in the database right we

26:27

we should have created the right records so you see one user is following the other

26:35

and the other one has a follower that's really cool so if i was actually user two right so

26:42

if i click on this one i can see the record and i can see that i'm following user one that's cool

26:49

and if i click on the other record here then user one has a follower

26:56

which is user two perfect this should work out nicely now let's preview the app again and see

27:04

how my feed looks like alright cool now i see the posts from this user if i click on it

27:10

and i unfollow this user and i go back to my feed then the post

27:16

disappears yeah okay that's cool of course um

27:22

there is a tiny issue when i post myself let's try this out and show you what i

27:27

mean

27:32

post and i don't see anything of course not because i'm not following

27:38

myself but we will actually follow ourselves well only in the database

27:44

so that we see our own stuff as well and it's a nice elegant trick to make this happen we go to the home

27:50

screen and whenever the whole screen is loaded then we make sure to follow ourselves automatically

27:56

every time the screen is loaded just to be sure the data is there so what we do is we click on the home

28:02

screen on top here we go to the actions and we say add another action

28:08

update myself and add myself to my own follow a following list and that will

28:14

immediately that will immediately show my own stuff in my own feed

28:20

which kind of makes sense so let's see preview

28:26

okay that is great i can finally see my own posts that is cool i can also follow this user here

28:33

and now i should see two posts in my feed let's go to home and check it out

28:40

there you go okay the logic is there now the visuals are not optimal so let's fix that first of all we have

28:47

to tell each button when to show up so that they are not visible at the same time

28:53

okay so we click on the follow button and the feature is a bit hidden it's here change visibility

28:59

and it's not always visible it's only sometimes usable well when is it visible it's visible if

29:04

i'm not already following that user so let's try this out so

29:10

how does adalo want us to do this well we have to look into our own following list and we have to say does

29:18

not contain well my follower list does not contain this guy which is the current post user

29:24

and then well show this button okay sounds logical um let's do the opposite

29:31

on the unfollow button change visibility sometimes

29:38

well and when when my following does contain this

29:45

user when my following list contains that other guy then i can unfollow cool

29:51

let's test it okay user1 ah nice unfollow

30:00

photo okay cool well the buttons are not aligned super nicely here with the profile picture we can make this happen

30:06

but as you can see there is no jumping around so the unfollow button is exactly on the same

30:11

spot as the follow button and the reason is that we have snapped them together so adalo

30:17

takes care to flip them so what we do here is just make sure that the follow button is

30:24

in the right place and the unfollow button will just be placed in that same space when the

30:29

follow button disappears so it should look fine but there is one tiny bug still because we don't want to

30:35

be able to unfollow ourselves right the whole point is we following ourselves forever because otherwise we won't see our posts

30:41

so let's fix that so we have these buttons here but we don't want to show

30:46

them whenever we look at our own profile we want to show it only when we look on any other profile

30:52

so we already know how to do this but in order to make this super easy and not adding the same logic to both

30:58

buttons we we select both of them and create a group and then we put that show hide logic on the whole

31:05

group makes it easier so well it's only visible when

31:11

the current post user email let's say is not equal to my email address so well

31:20

that should do the trick so let's see user two oh interesting yeah it uh it stretches

31:27

the image because it wants to make use of the whole space but you can see the buttons are gone and instead of

31:32

those buttons we will add another button here which is an edit my profile button which will

Create EDIT PROFILE screen

31:38

show up when i do watch my own profile but that will come up when we create the next screen

31:44

and the next screen is the edit profile screen okay so we create a new screen here

31:50

add screen and it's another form because we're editing ourselves okay nice and we are telling adalo that

31:58

it's a user that we're editing here and what fields do we want to edit well not the email

32:04

not the password but let's edit the full name that's uh it's not required by the way because

32:11

it wasn't also required on the on the sign up it's just there so you can set it at all and specifically the profile picture

32:18

because this is the first time you can actually set this and it's also not required but you can

32:23

add it and it's not a login form so we have to tell adalo that so here it's not really about logging in

32:29

it's about updating the user and yeah it's changed all of my fields so

32:36

let's change that back okay update user the submit button will update the user

32:43

that's cool it will also send us back to the preview screen also cool before we can test it we have

32:48

to of course link to that screen you can see that there is no arrow coming into it so it means well we can't

32:53

get there so let's link this this profile profile button here profile tab into

33:01

that other one so the action is to go to edit profile

33:10

okay and we do the same on the one on top

33:18

okay and now we have two arrows coming in and

33:24

which means we can get there let's try it out okay click on the button we can add our

33:32

full name and we can choose a profile picture let's do that

33:39

update user and now if i look on my own profile which is user two then i can see the

33:46

picture appearing well okay it's still stretched but we'll fix that soon okay that is great

33:51

and now what we can do we can add an edit profile button here only when i'm

33:56

looking at my own profile so that we can get to that screen as well and we just copy

34:02

one of those buttons and make sure because you're inside of a group here right but double clicking it gets you inside

34:10

of the group and clicking outside closes that group again and we want to put that button

34:15

outside of the group so it shouldn't be part of this it's not the same logic as the group the

34:21

group will will be hidden whenever i look at my own profile but this edit button will be shown

34:27

whenever i look at my profile so it's really exactly the other way around so let's change this button and make it

34:33

okay maybe green again and we can delete all of these actions

34:40

and here we maybe choose a edit icon

34:47

and we say edit profile

34:52

make it a tiny bit bigger and again it's it's snapped to the other one to the group really because it will just jump up uh whenever

35:00

the other buttons are not shown so that the app looks nice so it's sometimes visible well when is

35:05

it visible when i'm looking at my own profile so really it's when the current current post user

35:13

email address is the same as my own user email address so yeah pretty easy like we did before and

35:21

also we want to add an action to link to the edit profile screen which is like this

35:26

so now you have the first time you have an arrow pointing here into the screen and also

35:33

let's make this button look a bit different here we'll make an outline button out of it

35:38

okay let's test it out so we are user two as you can see on the bottom here we click on this

35:45

and we see edit profile yeah we can click on it and we arrive on our own profile we can

35:51

edit everything and then we come back and you can see now that the picture is not stretched anymore because there is a button next to it so

35:57

a dollar tries to fill up the whole screen so that if you have a bigger screen the app still looks good maybe we should put the

36:03

buttons more to the left here so that there's not so much space but that's easy to do by just marking

36:09

all of them and i usually do that with shift and the arrow keys on the keyboard i'm just jumping in that direction i

36:16

think that is pretty that is pretty good okay great

36:23

we finished those screens and they work perfectly fine okay the next thing to do is to link the final and third tab on

Create MY PROFILE screen

36:30

our app here to our own profile so you can see that this one doesn't have any link on it

36:35

check this out here it doesn't have any link on it because we didn't build that screen yet

36:40

now you would maybe expect that we can link the user profile to this user profile but

36:48

it doesn't work like that in adalo simply because on this screen we are referring to a post that has been clicked on from one

36:55

of those streams and then when you click on it adalo gives this other screen

37:00

the current post so let's see here you see it it passes on to that user

37:06

profile screen the current post the thing is that when we click on user profile here in the tab

37:12

menu there is no post to give to that screen so that screen will be very confused and doesn't know what to display so what

37:18

we have to do is we have to create another screen just for that use case to display our very own profile

37:24

so in order to do that we copy this one command c command v

37:29

maybe put it somewhere here and we just delete everything we don't need from that screen and of course we

37:36

do not need the follow buttons so we can just backspace or delete them

37:42

and we just place this button back where it should be like that and instead of

37:50

displaying any data here based on the current post we want to display it based on the logged in user

37:56

so i will have to delete this and set it to current logged in users username

38:02

and current login users picture and so on and so on

38:09

also the list has to take the posts from from the current login user and so on i

38:16

think that's it basically the link to edit profile is still

38:23

okay because well that screen is just for us we can only edit our own profile

38:28

that's fine so that should work out fine and now we can go ahead and link it from the tab bot

38:36

add an action and link to user profile too well because i gave it the worst name

38:42

ever let's rename that to be called my profile click done

38:50

that's important really i mean name your screens and then it's much easier in the drop downs

38:58

here it's missing then link to my profile

39:06

okay and of course let's test it okay my profile coming here

39:14

and for some reason yeah of course of course the button has a visibility constraint

39:21

and we can just remove it and say always visible because when i'm looking at my own profile of course i want that button to appear

39:28

so let's check it out again okay that's nice edit profile coming

39:34

here change my name just to prove that it works

39:40

that's cool and let's post another picture here in the name of user two

39:45

and then we log in again with user one and we see how that looks like

39:56

okay as you can see my feed shows my own post but also the post from the user i'm following

40:01

you can see that when i click on another user's post i arrive on their profile and i can unfollow them and when i click

40:10

on my own uh posts then i arrive on on my own profile and i can edit my profile

40:16

and it's a bit different than the other users and that's cool i can explore other users content

40:21

as well i don't see my own content there which is absolutely desired i can unfollow this user

40:29

and then i can go back to my feed on the home tab and i can see that this user's post just

40:35

completely disappeared and i just see my own stuff and i can click on my user profile as well

40:42

and i can i can edit it so hey we are almost done the only thing missing are the

Create NOTIFICATIONS

40:47

notifications the notifications that are sent out to all of your followers whenever you post something new

40:53

okay but why does this work well that's because adalo is capable of exporting your

40:58

adalo app as a native application so check this out you can publish this app as an ios app

41:04

or an android app and put it into the app store but also as you can see adala wants you to upgrade to a paid plan in order to

41:11

make this happen speaking of a dollar pricing you can see that their most expensive plan is at 200

41:16

a month and also more importantly it limits you to 20 gigabytes of data

41:21

storage now imagine your instagram application goes through the roof then you can hit that very quickly so

41:29

keep in mind when you're building content heavy applications with adalo there is a way around this by using

41:35

adalos api connector you can connect also by upgrading of course your plan you can connect to a

41:40

third-party api let's say you want to put your data on some other storage and you can do that and then just load

41:47

the data within the adalo app from outside then you will not hit that limit but

41:52

that goes a bit too far for today so make sure you like and subscribe so that you get that video when i create it

41:58

okay now so let's create those notifications go to the post photo screen and make sure

42:03

the submit button has another action on it which triggers a notification

42:10

but now how do we tell it which users should get those notifications now check this out i can send it to all of my

42:18

followers and that easy right because we created this relation at the very beginning of

42:23

the video you can go back and check it out where we said that a user has followers and those followers

42:29

are created every time this green button is clicked right so adela knows exactly who those users are so it's a list of users

42:36

and all of them will get this notification now the only thing left to do is to tell a dollar how to phrase this

42:43

notification so i will say this user which is me

42:49

has posted new content so check it out and also please when user clicks on that notification send them to the user

42:56

profile the user profile is a screen up here that we created

43:02

and adalo will basically send a reference to which user that is

43:07

so the screen can then start rendering all of my posts and this other person that is

43:13

following me can see my content it looks like we have created all the features that we want to create

43:18

that was cool right don't forget the

43:24

copy there is one more thing that you should know about adalo's data layer

One more thing (saving money)

43:29

it offers an api connector over here and you can use it to connect to any

43:35

kind of api that exists out there for example for searching for images

43:40

or to connect to your own api for face detection or any kind of machine learning

43:45

or simply to fetch data out of a massive database that you do not want to copy into adalo

43:50

because it wouldn't make any sense so keep this option in mind it's really powerful especially when used with

43:57

backendlist.com which also allows you to create an api and a business layer and then you can put those two together

44:03

where you have backendless as your backend with the business logic with all your data it can scale super nice

44:09

and then you just read this data into adalo which also saves you some money on the pricing plans

Final words (worth it)

44:16

that's it for this video i hope you had a lot of fun creating an app like instagram using adalo and you can see the

44:22

possibilities that lie in front of you by knowing such tools if you don't mind leave a like and subscribe to the

44:28

channel because i will be releasing new videos on the limitations of no-code tools and what is not possible with them

44:34

until next time keep creating and

0:00

and he turned to me and he said jordan

0:02

do you realize how valuable you are

0:05

and i was a bit confused and said what

0:07

do you mean

0:08

and he said

0:10

jordan i'm paying an overseas dev shop

0:13

30 000 every month just to keep my

0:16

startup going you're telling me you

0:18

built the entire revitize platform from

0:21

marketing to back into front end

0:23

internal dashboards all by yourself

0:26

i smiled and although i appreciated his

0:29

compliment i knew it wasn't me it was

0:31

the power of no code

0:33

[Music]

0:39

okay so before i show you what to do and

0:41

how to do it let me give you a quick

0:43

overview of why no code worked for me

0:46

and why you should consider becoming a

0:47

no coder and why it's a game changer for

0:50

most tech businesses

0:51

first off i want to make this crystal

0:53

clear i am not a coder in any way prior

0:57

to building my company revitize i had

1:00

zero engineering or coding experience

1:02

zero

1:03

i'm actually a bit of a meat head a

1:05

former college football player maybe the

1:08

opposite of what you'd expect a

1:09

traditional dev background to be

1:11

in fact i'm such an imposter to the dev

1:14

world that i'm getting roasted pretty

1:16

hard by coders i've never met

1:18

my wife and i had quite a few laughs

1:20

reading through that comments section

1:22

but in any case thanks to a new

1:24

technology called no code i am a

1:27

technical founder a cto of a promising

1:30

startup that has been backed by the

1:31

prestigious angel pad tech accelerator

1:34

and that has allowed me and my business

1:36

partner to build a nice lifestyle

1:38

business

1:39

so let me explain how that all went down

1:42

i actually first discovered no code

1:44

before it was even called no code back

1:46

in 2013 while i was a sixth grade math

1:48

teacher

1:49

i wasn't making a whole lot of money and

1:52

i had a newborn baby and a growing

1:53

family to support so i wanted to make

1:56

some side cash

1:57

one day while brainstorming what i could

1:59

do to make some extra income i saw

2:02

something that caught my eye an app

2:03

called flappy bird had grossed over 65

2:07

thousand dollars every day for quite a

2:09

while immediately i thought

2:11

apps that's what i'm gonna do for my

2:13

work from home side cache apps

2:16

but there was one problem i did not know

2:18

the first thing about coding and i

2:20

didn't know the first thing about app

2:22

design

2:23

so i started googling and i came across

2:25

buildbox one of the first great no code

2:28

tools by the way

2:29

after a few weeks i had my first product

2:31

on the app store i was astonished and

2:34

ecstatic that i had just built a mobile

2:36

game in a few weeks without knowing the

2:39

first thing about coding or app design

2:41

i couldn't wait for my own 65k to start

2:44

rolling in every day

2:46

then

2:47

reality hit i ended up making about a

2:50

dollar a day

2:52

sometimes less sometimes more

2:54

i was pretty disappointed but i learned

2:56

a very important lesson

2:58

no code is amazing but market research

3:01

marketing skills go to market strategy

3:04

they all still matter a lot so fast

3:06

forward a little bit and i was now

3:08

working at a solar company as a regional

3:10

sales manager

3:11

my boss who is the ceo of our solar

3:13

company

3:14

approached me with two serious problems

3:16

for our business one we were losing

3:19

deals to other companies who just had

3:21

better and more online reviews on google

3:23

than us

3:25

two

3:25

most of the deals we were getting were

3:27

from referrals and we wanted more of

3:29

them

3:30

it was then that i realized something

3:33

lack of reviews can break a business an

3:35

abundance of referrals can make a

3:37

business

3:38

so my boss richard he'd heard that i had

3:41

dabbled in apps before

3:42

he had this idea for the software that

3:44

would streamline both reviews and

3:46

referrals all in one place

3:48

he asked me if i could build it i had

3:51

just recently stumbled upon bubble.io

3:53

which helps you build web apps without

3:55

code but i wasn't too sure if it could

3:57

really do what we needed so

4:00

i decided to give it a shot

4:02

as i dove in i was absolutely astounded

4:06

at what i could accomplish without

4:08

having to write a single line of code in

4:10

literally two months of work i had a

4:12

working mvp or a minimum viable product

4:15

up and running and we called it

4:17

revitize.com

4:19

as the perfectionist developer who was

4:21

constantly fixing and tweaking things i

4:24

was actually pretty terrified to launch

4:25

it to customers but my boss now business

4:29

partner richard he wasn't gonna wait any

4:31

longer so he gave our accountant a phone

4:34

call and said hey i have a software that

4:36

will help you with reviews and referrals

4:39

without even seeing our software our

4:41

accountant said yep i'm in and he paid

4:44

us nearly a thousand dollars that day

4:46

for a year contract

4:48

he's still a client to this day

4:51

a quick side note on that

4:52

and we'll get more into this later but i

4:54

realize this first sale is a testament

4:57

to the fact that you need to solve

4:59

problems with your software not just

5:01

have cool features

5:02

our account knew that we could solve his

5:04

businesses problems he did not care at

5:07

all whether we were built on no code by

5:10

some dude faking it or if we had a team

5:13

of engineers with a master's degree in

5:15

computer science

5:16

that first customer was all the

5:18

validation we needed

5:19

we knew we were solving a real problem

5:22

even though we honestly haven't had a

5:23

pretty crappy initial product we knew

5:26

that with no code we could iterate

5:27

quickly on customer feedback and build

5:29

something special

5:31

again we'll dive deeper into this later

5:33

but constant communication with

5:35

customers is critical to your success so

5:37

you can iterate your product based on

5:39

their feedback well to keep a long story

5:42

short we were off to the races within

5:44

one year of selling and iterating a

5:47

bunch on our product we had amassed a

5:48

customer base that was roughly paying us

5:50

twenty five thousand dollars per month

5:52

in recurring revenue

5:54

and let me tell you in software

5:57

especially b2b software the margins are

5:59

very good to you

6:01

so throughout that year emails like this

6:04

were a regular occurrence

6:05

i'd constantly get clients saying man i

6:08

wish i could hire you as my developer i

6:10

have no idea how you crank these things

6:12

out so fast

6:14

so after that year we decided we wanted

6:16

to take the business to the next level

6:18

so we decided to check out the various

6:20

startup accelerator programs

6:22

we applied to a bunch of them and we

6:24

were accepted by angel pad

6:26

and at the time it was based in new york

6:28

city

6:29

they gave us 120 000 in exchange for

6:32

five percent of our company within two

6:34

weeks we had our bags packed and we were

6:36

staying in an airbnb near manhattan

6:39

it was a wonderful experience we were

6:41

able to meet some amazing people and

6:43

make some great friendships along the

6:44

way and we were tutored by two of the

6:46

smartest startup gurus i've ever met

6:49

tomas corte and karine majescus

6:52

i should probably mention

6:54

initially once we arrived i was

6:56

terrified that my status as cto that

6:59

doesn't know how to code would be a huge

7:01

turn off to the folks at angel pad

7:04

it actually wasn't

7:05

in fact they commented about how

7:08

impressed they were by this growth hack

7:10

i had found and the reaction from the

7:12

other founders in my cohort was similar

7:14

one day we were sitting in a we work

7:16

office building uh with another founder

7:19

of a company that's kind of similar to

7:20

revites and he turned to me and he said

7:23

jordan do you realize how valuable you

7:26

are

7:27

and i was a bit confused and said what

7:29

do you mean

7:30

and he said

7:31

jordan i'm paying an overseas dev shop

7:35

30 000 every month just to keep my

7:38

startup going you're telling me you

7:40

built the entire revitize platform from

7:42

marketing to backend to front end

7:45

internal dashboards all by yourself

7:48

i smiled and although i appreciated his

7:50

compliment i knew it wasn't me it was

7:53

the power of no code

7:55

anyways angelpad really helped us refine

7:58

our idea and think through many of our

7:59

business assumptions

8:01

they also helped us craft a winning

8:03

pitch deck

8:04

showed us how to pitch venture

8:05

capitalists and groomed our business for

8:07

success

8:08

after pitching several venture capital

8:10

firms including sequoia pair vc homebrew

8:14

tuesday vc shasta and more we ultimately

8:17

decided against raising a ton of money

8:19

and i'll go more in depth into the pros

8:21

and cons of raising money in upcoming

8:23

videos but suffice it for now to say we

8:26

ended up deciding we were pleased with

8:27

being our own bosses and having a great

8:29

lifestyle business

8:31

as time went on we continued to sell

8:33

refine our approach learn from our

8:35

mistakes and tweak our business model

8:38

then

8:39

suddenly in early 2021

8:41

a couple months after i got acute covet

8:44

i actually got pretty sick again i had

8:46

several er trips and hospital stays with

8:49

pretty intense symptoms

8:50

at the time the doctors had no clue what

8:52

was wrong with me and now we know it was

8:54

post-coveted long-haulers syndrome to

8:57

make a long story short i was down for

9:00

the count

9:01

for several months

9:02

i had to hire someone to replace me

9:05

but as i started improving i knew that i

9:07

had had tons of people approaching me

9:09

asking me how they could build their own

9:11

tech idea

9:12

so i did a bit of freelance and

9:14

consulted people on how to build

9:16

scalable no-code apps themselves

9:19

one approached me and said hey jordan

9:21

can you help me build a learning

9:22

management system for my football team

9:24

another called me and said hey jordan

9:26

can you build me a software that will

9:28

streamline my company's home building

9:29

process

9:31

a relative came to me and said hey

9:33

jordan i'm doing this new business and

9:35

using like 10 different softwares can

9:37

you help me consolidate all that data

9:39

into one spot

9:41

so it was then that i realized how

9:43

helpful software is to so many different

9:45

niches

9:46

and how much faster and cheaper it is to

9:49

build with no code

9:51

truly i thought whether you're an

9:53

entrepreneur or a freelancer

9:55

knowing no code gives you super powers

9:58

after spending so much time and energy

10:00

teaching my friends and loving every

10:03

minute of it i realized that i wanted to

10:05

go active as an educator and passive

10:07

with revit ties

10:09

i've had such tremendous success with no

10:11

code in both the startup and the

10:12

freelance world that i couldn't pass up

10:14

the opportunity to teach others not only

10:17

how to build stuff but also the business

10:19

skills necessary to succeed

10:21

and thus no code advantage was born

10:24

so

10:25

why choose me for your no code learning

10:27

journey well there are a couple reasons

10:30

first off

10:31

i don't want you to just know how to

10:33

clone airbnb or rework a crappy template

10:36

i want you to understand how to model

10:39

and improve upon and scale something

10:41

that actually competes with the airbnbs

10:43

of the world as albert einstein once

10:45

said any fool can know the point is to

10:48

understand

10:50

in the no code advantage academy we take

10:52

you through chronologically and step by

10:55

step everything you need to understand

10:58

second there are many many ways to skin

11:01

a cat so to speak and some ways are

11:04

better than others in the beginning of

11:05

my no-code journey i endured countless

11:08

hours banging my head against the wall

11:10

wondering why my app doesn't behave the

11:12

way i want it to or why doesn't it

11:14

perform quite as nice as i'd like it to

11:17

or why does my design suck so bad

11:20

or why my first apps weren't selling

11:22

very well

11:23

in short i don't want you to have to

11:25

endure that yourself

11:27

so i've taken all these lessons i've

11:29

learned and packaged these skills into

11:31

one concise learning academy from market

11:34

research to building your app the right

11:36

way

11:37

to good design principles without being

11:39

a designer to business and marketing

11:41

skills without needing to go get an mba

11:44

i've tried my very best to remove all

11:46

the fluff so you can get from idea to

11:49

tech business as fast as possible

11:51

all without having to learn code

11:54

i owe my career to no code and i want to

11:56

see the same thing happen to you

11:58

now i want to make this very clear this

12:00

is not a get rich quick scheme and it

12:02

does require a ton of diligence and a

12:04

lot of work but if you apply the things

12:07

i teach i know you can find success so

12:11

although i'm biased and this is cliche i

12:13

think it goes without being said

12:15

no code is the future and the future is

12:18

now

A guide to improving your existing business application of artificial intelligence

מדריך לשיפור היישום העסקי הקיים שלך בינה מלאכותית

What is Artificial Intelligence and how does it work? What are the 3 types of AI?

What is Artificial Intelligence and how does it work? What are the 3 types of AI? The 3 types of AI are: General AI: AI that can perform all of the intellectual tasks a human can. Currently, no form of AI can think abstractly or develop creative ideas in the same ways as humans.  Narrow AI: Narrow AI commonly includes visual recognition and natural language processing (NLP) technologies. It is a powerful tool for completing routine jobs based on common knowledge, such as playing music on demand via a voice-enabled device.  Broad AI: Broad AI typically relies on exclusive data sets associated with the business in question. It is generally considered the most useful AI category for a business. Business leaders will integrate a broad AI solution with a specific business process where enterprise-specific knowledge is required.  How can artificial intelligence be used in business? AI is providing new ways for humans to engage with machines, transitioning personnel from pure digital experiences to human-like natural interactions. This is called cognitive engagement.  AI is augmenting and improving how humans absorb and process information, often in real-time. This is called cognitive insights and knowledge management. Beyond process automation, AI is facilitating knowledge-intensive business decisions, mimicking complex human intelligence. This is called cognitive automation.  What are the different artificial intelligence technologies in business? Machine learning, deep learning, robotics, computer vision, cognitive computing, artificial general intelligence, natural language processing, and knowledge reasoning are some of the most common business applications of AI.  What is the difference between artificial intelligence and machine learning and deep learning? Artificial intelligence (AI) applies advanced analysis and logic-based techniques, including machine learning, to interpret events, support and automate decisions, and take actions.  Machine learning is an application of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed.  Deep learning is a subset of machine learning in artificial intelligence (AI) that has networks capable of learning unsupervised from data that is unstructured or unlabeled.  What are the current and future capabilities of artificial intelligence? Current capabilities of AI include examples such as personal assistants (Siri, Alexa, Google Home), smart cars (Tesla), behavioral adaptation to improve the emotional intelligence of customer support representatives, using machine learning and predictive algorithms to improve the customer’s experience, transactional AI like that of Amazon, personalized content recommendations (Netflix), voice control, and learning thermostats.  Future capabilities of AI might probably include fully autonomous cars, precision farming, future air traffic controllers, future classrooms with ambient informatics, urban systems, smart cities and so on.  To know more about the scope of artificial intelligence in your business, please connect with our expert.

Glossary of Terms

Application Programming Interface(API):

An API, or application programming interface, is a set of rules and protocols that allows different software programs to communicate and exchange information with each other. It acts as a kind of intermediary, enabling different programs to interact and work together, even if they are not built using the same programming languages or technologies. API's provide a way for different software programs to talk to each other and share data, helping to create a more interconnected and seamless user experience.

Artificial Intelligence(AI):

the intelligence displayed by machines in performing tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as learning, problem-solving, decision-making, and language understanding. AI is achieved by developing algorithms and systems that can process, analyze, and understand large amounts of data and make decisions based on that data.

Compute Unified Device Architecture(CUDA):

CUDA is a way that computers can work on really hard and big problems by breaking them down into smaller pieces and solving them all at the same time. It helps the computer work faster and better by using special parts inside it called GPUs. It's like when you have lots of friends help you do a puzzle - it goes much faster than if you try to do it all by yourself.

The term "CUDA" is a trademark of NVIDIA Corporation, which developed and popularized the technology.

Neural Radiance Fields(NeRF):

Neural Radiance Fields are a type of deep learning model that can be used for a variety of tasks, including image generation, object detection, and segmentation. NeRFs are inspired by the idea of using a neural network to model the radiance of an image, which is a measure of the amount of light that is emitted or reflected by an object.

OpenAI:

OpenAI is a research institute focused on developing and promoting artificial intelligence technologies that are safe, transparent, and beneficial to society

Overfitting:

A common problem in machine learning, in which the model performs well on the training data but poorly on new, unseen data. It occurs when the model is too complex and has learned too many details from the training data, so it doesn't generalize well.

Prompt:

A prompt is a piece of text that is used to prime a large language model and guide its generation

Python:

Python is a popular, high-level programming language known for its simplicity, readability, and flexibility (many AI tools use it)

Reinforcement Learning:

A type of machine learning in which the model learns by trial and error, receiving rewards or punishments for its actions and adjusting its behavior accordingly.

Spatial Computing:

Spatial computing is the use of technology to add digital information and experiences to the physical world. This can include things like augmented reality, where digital information is added to what you see in the real world, or virtual reality, where you can fully immerse yourself in a digital environment. It has many different uses, such as in education, entertainment, and design, and can change how we interact with the world and with each other.

Unsupervised Learning:

A type of machine learning in which the training data is not labeled, and the model is trained to find patterns and relationships in the data on its own.

Webhook:

A webhook is a way for one computer program to send a message or data to another program over the internet in real-time. It works by sending the message or data to a specific URL, which belongs to the other program. Webhooks are often used to automate processes and make it easier for different programs to communicate and work together. They are a useful tool for developers who want to build custom applications or create integrations between different software systems.
