Stefania Maria Maci (PhD in Applied Linguistics - Lancaster, UK; Linguistics and Philosophy of Language Diploma - University of Ca’ Foscari – Venice; BA in Foreign Languages and Literatures - University of Ca’ Foscari – Venice).
She studied at UCL (UK), and Warwick University (UK).
At the moment, her research is focussed on the analysis of the English language in academic contexts, with particular regard to the analysis of medical English and Identity in National and Professional Contexts. She is carrying out research about:
Metadiscursive issues, argumentative strategies and metaphorical aspects of medical discourse across genres and cultures

Stefania M. Maci si è laureata in Lingue e Letterature Straniere presso l’Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia, dove ha conseguito anche il diploma di specializzazione in Linguistica e Filosofia del Linguaggio. Ha perfezionato i propri studi presso UCL – University College of London (UK) – e Warwick University (UK). Ha un PhD in Applied Linguistics conseguito presso il Dipartimento di Linguistics and English Language di Lancaster University (UK).
Attualmente, la sua indagine è concentrata sull’analisi della lingua inglese usata in ambienti accademici, con particolare riguardo all’inglese medico e all’ Identità in contesti Nazionali e Professionali. A questo proposito la sua ricerca riguarda:
