PhD in Slavic Languages and Literatures, 2003 – Goethe University Frankfurt am Main – Germany. Specialization in Russian and Ukrainian linguistics. Dissertation: Kommunikativnaja neudača v dialoge: na materiale russkogo i ukrainskogo jazykov (= Communication failure in the Russian and Ukrainian dialog).

Her publications and research are mainly concerned with pragmalinguistics, contact linguistics and legal linguistics. Her current research is focused on the lexical and morphosyntactic properties of legal Ukrainian and legal Russian, with particular regard to the deontic modality, translation of legal terminology, verbal constructions in the legislative text.
