Title of the project

Decision-making support tools and scenario analysis for valorising endogenous resources and promoting energy efficiency

Aims of the project

The aim of PhD project is to develop an integrated modelling platform, based on the ETSAP-TIMES generator, to support decision-making processes. Through the Nexus approach, this platform allows analyzing the impacts deriving from future climate change scenarios, and from the implementation of agricultural and energy-environmental policies, highlighting the effects on agri-food sector in term of land use, resource availability and crop productivity. The developed tool, applied to Basilicata Region and Portugal as case studies, provides a methodological framework to define a potential sustainable development strategy in this sector, identifying the best cropping patterns, enhancing endogenous resources and reducing the environmental impact.
