To participate in the PhD Programme selections, applicants have to submit an application following the indications provided in the call which is published every year on Euraxess and on the University website:
Selection procedures can be held remotely.
For admission, applicants must hold the Italian academic qualification "Lauree Magistrali" or equivalent degrees for foreign students (5-year academic course after BCs is required).
In the application, candidates should indicate the PhD curriculum for which they apply. Selection of candidates will be based on CV assessment (scientific publications and previous research experience) and interview by a Committee appointed by PhD Board. Students are encouraged to submit a motivation letter that will be carefully evaluated. Students whose CV and motivation has been positively evaluated are invited to the oral interview (in English for foreign students).

Closing date: about 1 month after the opening date

PhD Programmes start date: 1st October
PhD Programmes duration: 3 years.
Tuition fees
The amount of the tuition fee is € 140 per year, covering the regional tax “Right to Higher Education”, stamp duties and insurance. An additional University tuition fee is due, whose amount is decided every year by the Board of Governors of the University.
Scholarships
4-5 positions are available every year (most of them with scholarship). The number of positions and scholarships is indicated in the call for applications; some of them are reserved for specific research topics. The yearly gross amount of each scholarship is € 15.343,28.
Stay abroad
PhD candidates spend periods (minimum 6 months – max 18 months) of study and research abroad. A prior authorisation of the PhD Academic Board is required. The amount of the scholarship is increased by 50% for the periods spent abroad. This increase is not allowed for periods shorter than one continuous month as well as for stays in the Country of birth, citizenship, residence of the PhD candidate. Within the Erasmus+ programme PhD candidates may spend a mobility period in the universities, research centres or companies located both in the EU and in non – EU countries.
