The use of models and simulation for the study, development and optimization of machines and plants for the agro-industrial applications

Aims of the project

The part aim of this study is optimize and evaluate the modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) system. At the moment, we are working on a novel device. Firstly, we will use the device for fruit packaging and secondly, the procedure of packaging will be simulated. In the first step to achieve an accurate result, the geometry of the part or product will be obtained. Therefore, the shape of the product will be calculated and modelled using measurements or reverse engineering. Design software (Catia) is used to model the system (or part of the system). In the subsequent step, the factors affecting the simulation (speed, time, weight, etc.) will be assessed. Depending on the type of simulation (solids or fluids), the behaviour of the system will be evaluated. To simulate solids, the static, quasi-static and dynamic behaviour of an object or product will be evaluated using Abaqus software.
