SB 294, known as “The Workplace Know Your Rights Act,” was enacted in 2026 so "California workers have a strong understanding of their rights as workers,” as well as “to equip workers with knowledge of their rights that they can also use to protect their families, neighbors, and communities at a time of potential disruption, dislocation, and fear for many Californians.” This requires employers to provide all employees with annual written notice of specific rights, including the right to notice of inspection by immigration agencies, the right to organize a union, and constitutional rights when interacting with law enforcement at the workplace.
