Wisconsin became the 30th state on May 29, 1848. The capital city is Madison and Milwaukee is the largest city. Wisconsin is bordered by Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan. Wisconsin also touches two of the five great lakes: Lake Superior and Lake Michigan.

The state is divided into 72 counties.

Wisconsin is the only state to have the accordion as its state instrument.

The first-ever ice cream sundae was served (on a Sunday) in 1881 at Edward C. Berner's soda fountain in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. It only cost 5 cents. A traditional sundae starts off with a couple scoops of creamy white vanilla ice cream, followed by dark brown chocolate syrup, pure white whipped cream and then topped off with a bright red cherry.
