Every state park in Delaware has a disc golf course. Remember the objective of the game is to throw the disc in the chain basket located on a pole. The number of throws to land the disc in the basket is the score for the hole. Young or old, beginner or expert, this exciting sport is waiting for you! But first you must solve the Delaware breakout in 45 minutes. So get hoppin' so you can hit the disc golf course.

Delaware became the first of the 13 original states to ratify (sign) the United States Constitution. Therefore the nickname is very appropriate, The First State. The date was December 7, 1787.

The state's largest city is Wilmington and the capital is Dover.

Delaware is the second smallest state in the country. It stretches just under 100 miles long. It varies from 9 to 35 miles in width.

The state colors are buff and Colonial blue. George Washington's uniform were colored these two colors.

One of Delaware's most important natural resources is its mineral-rich soil. This soil is ideal for farming. Soybeans, corn, potatoes, and peas are some of Delaware’s top crops.

Well then you should take in the NASCAR races at the Dover International Speedway. It is nicknamed the Monster Mile. A 46-foot statue of a massive, mighty monster holds a full-size car in its hand in front of the track.

The Delaware state insect is the ladybug. This is a good thing because these little, lively ladybugs help gardeners and farmers by eating tiny insect pests that damage plants.

Thanks to Mrs. Mollie Brown-Rust and her 2nd grade students of the Lulu M. Ross Elementary School in Milford the ladybug was awarded this great honor. The students and their teacher put together a petition for the Delaware General Assembly. On April 25, 1974 the ladybug became the state symbol officially.

Delaware has the fewest amount of counties. Compare this to Texas which has 254 counties.

Thousands of horseshoe crabs frequent the Delaware coastline. They can survive up to a year without eating.

In 2014, Delaware designated bicycling as the official state sport. Delaware hosts the Wilmington Grand Prix each year. This bicycle race draws over 800 bicycle riders and 16,000 spectators each year. The Grand Prix just celebrated its 12th year. There are three different races with different distances.
