We learnt how to setup a Steadicam and mounted a camera to it then practiced taking shots with different motions like pulling in and out. Afterwards we also setup a Glidecam.

Foley is straight recorded sounds, sound FX is altered sounds (could be digitally manipulated or extra sounds layered on top).

Camera movement

Why move a camera?

• Something/someone moves on screen and you need to follow it.

• To reveal new information.

• Add an emotional lement to the scene.

• Add visual energy to the scene.

Ask yourself:

• Do I need movement in this shot? (Doing it for fun or with motivation?)

• What is the movement trying to achieve?

• What is the best way to achieve that?
