What? So what? Now what?
Pre-class
Since the start of the week I had less time to work on this than I had hoped so I wasn't able to get as much done as I had planned. There was a lot of trial and error getting the baked rigid body simulation from Maya into EmberGen. I first tried doing this with an alembic file but EmberGen doesn't support cameras from alembic files and since there's a one file import limit I couldn't bring the camera in with a separate file. What I had to do was bring everything I needed into a single Maya scene and export the whole thing as an FBX. This method worked.

During Class
I showed my progress to the class, and also what I planned to do since I didn't have the final animation finished. I most likely wouldn't get the entire animation done before the due date this week so I will have to only focus on the main explosion shot.
After Class
I continued working on the explosion shot, eventually rendering it out and comping it in Nuke.
