What? So what? Now what?

Before class

I spent Saturday night working on my Bourne edit adding music, sound and threw a LUT on top with some extra colour correction tweaks in Davinci Resolve. This is the first time editing a film like this, usually I edit in Vegas or even After Effects but I wanted to try Davinci with a more complex audio track setup.

In-class

I had pulled multiple all nighters leading up to class while working on my major animation project. I had very little sleep and Antony allowed me to take a nap at the back of the auditorium.

This class has been incredibly fun throughout the trimester, getting to practice things I've learnt from photography but putting them through a professional workflow has been a great learning experiece. Two things I've always wanted in life are using a cinema camera which I have done now (Canon C200) and being on a film set (twice now!). While I'm not going into the film industry like the others in the class I'm so glad to have taken this class. The things I've learnt will still be relevant to me while working in VFX and animation. One day I hope to be a VFX supervisor and get to work on film sets again, essentailly having the best of both worlds. I recently was contacted by a director in Sydney to do some VFX for their short film so maybe that's not too far off...
