CAS Project: the NASA Hunch
Throughout the NASA Hunch project, there were a lot of information about space and planets that I didn't know beforehand due to not having taken Physics before in a class. I became an Inquirer as I searched to fill this void of knowledge, going down rabbit-holes over timekeeping methods and calculating planetary motion and perturbations, all for the goal of ultimately becoming more Knowledgeable. As a deep-Thinker, I applied this knowledge in a diverse manner, creating new backend and frontend code as well as writing Reflective manuals explaining the processes behind the code. For example, part of the task was to organize calendars for planets other than Earth, and I needed to be ethical and Caring about the balances: I considered the 5/2 work/weekend week, length of months and the customary seasons, as well as the length of day. Additionally, as deadlines for meetings and presentations were marked into our calendars, I made sure to Communicate with my team to establish our goals for the 'sprint's before each deadline, which allowed our schedules to be more Balanced.
Experiences:
Between two years of CAS Experiences, there's a lot to be proud about. When playing violin, whether in DAAYO's youth orchestra, Epoch Christmas Caroling, or during Region class, I was constantly be Refectlive about my own performance. While we can't speak while playing or listening to others play, we Communicated through our body language but were also good watchers and listeners that paid attention to our fellow musicians.
Whenever I made food in my experiences, it was also my first time ever doing so. At that time when I made the dumplings, I hadn't done it for over six years, at least since COVID, and it was also my first time making egg tarts, making me a Risk-taker. I've also volunteered at a couple events for children, like VBC Camp and the Kerr Fun Fest, and it always takes a lot of energy, despite being lots of fun, to be Caring towards the wonderful event-goers, showing how it might be hard to be Principled, but worth it at the end. As I started going to the gym in my senior year, I had a lot of questions about exercising, and I wasn't afraid to Inquire about anything to my friends who had been gym-goers for some time. Planning events like going on a walk behind the gym, building snowmen, and study sessions takes a lot of good Communication as well. Ultimately, these two years going out and experiencing new things, then recording and Reflecting how they have impacted me has been truly a period of growth.
