Since a long weekend was in session, my friends and I decided to go out to our local Starbucks. We usually go out to just chat and relax, but since it was Junior year and we were all stuffed to our necks with homework to do, we decided to do our homework together. We also decided to challenge each other with getting a drink that we've never gotten before, and I got the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. Personally, I didn't really like it, because it's oatmilk and bitter flavors didn't go very well together.
A: The aim of this experience was for my friends and I to be able to do our homework together. We could ask each other questions, have a bit of fun, but also hold each other accountable to stay focused.
C: We communicated and collaborated during this study session in order to help each other understand the things we were learning over our homework. We showed our creativity when we were choosing our drinks, as we were finding and trying new things.
T: We planned and notified our friend group about this event in advance, and were able to find enough people to execute it (if there were less than 3 people, it wouldn't have been as fun).
I: The four of us who went often biked to Starbucks, and we've made quite a few trips over the past years, so we are very familiar with the location. (Though, since the weather was over 100 degrees on the day we went, we drove/carpooled to the Starbucks instead).
V: I gained valuable quality time with my friends, as well as focused studying time for myself. I also got to try out one of Starbuck's new Autumnal specialties, even if it wasn't very good.
E: I did feel very engaged during this study session, as I got to really focus and do my homework, but also have resources (my friends) to reach out to whenever I got stuck.
LO5: By working together and keeping each other accountable, we all got more homework done than if we were alone at home and able to easily reach out to our phones.
