Positivity Posts
Last week, our year 5 and year 6 football teams both took part in tournaments at Liverpool FC’s Academy. This was a wonderful opportunity to play on premier league quality facilities and both teams were fabulous representatives of St Joseph’s. The year 6 team performed brilliantly in the group stages, qualifying easily, before being narrowly beaten 2-1 in the quarter finals after some refereeing decisions went against us. Our year 5 team fought hard in every match and eventually finished runners up, again being narrowly beaten 2-1 in the final.
Congratulations to both teams.

Young Carers
Young carers often take on a level of responsibility that isn’t appropriate for their age or development. They may have to help look after a family member who's sick, disabled, have mental health problems, or misuses drugs or alcohol. Their day-to-day responsibilities often include:
· cooking
· cleaning
· shopping
· providing nursing and personal care
· giving emotional support.
With so many adult responsibilities, young carers often miss the everyday opportunities other children have to play and learn. They can become isolated and are often afraid to ask for help as they fear letting the family down or themselves, taken into care.
If you believe your child could benefit from some additional discrete and sensitive support, please contact Mr Saunders. Warrington local authority offers good support for Young Carers which could supplement that received in school.
Amazon
We are grateful for the continued generosity from Amazon as they regularly donate various digital items and boxes of stationery for school. It is really appreciated.

Food allergies
Please be reminded that some of our children suffer with severe allergic reactions to peanuts, nuts, lentils and peas. If an anaphylactic reaction occurs we are trained to immediately use Jext pens of Epipens and call 999.
Please do not use Nivea suncream as it has almond oil in it and we have children with severe nut allergies.
Please do not send any items containing the above into school for your child’s lunch or snack. This includes spreads like Nutella as it has hazelnut as an ingredient.
Thank you for your support, as always.
