Friday 23rd February 2024 - Issue 22
In previous weeks we have informed parents about letting their children walk across the staff car park. This must stop as it is a hazard to their safety. Please do not drive into the car park nor let your child walk across the area. We are looking to installing high fencing and electronic gates in order to improve safety and security.
If your child uses the after-school provision, Kool Kids, they must walk up the side path, through the playground and down the path to the Kool Kids room.
This week we recognise the following children as Stars of the Week for their effort and contribution to school life:
Emily Manfredonia, Tobias Akerman, Ned Horan, Kiera Littlewood, Alexander Gandy, Charlotte Burgess, Erin Farrell, Joshua Lam, Evelina Pakhuchka, Lauren Quartly, Peter Griffiths, Emelia Pucill, Finley Brown, Austin Hennessy, Sam Staniford, Abel Nicolae-Mazniuk, Charlie Wilde, Evie Holford and Thomas Byrne
Happy birthday to all the children and staff who have had or who will be celebrating their birthdays this week.
Nicholas Cross, Ashleigh Kerr, Harry Morland, Connor Robinson, Alarna Olivier-Allen and Isaac Marsh
We hope you have had or will have a lovely day!
It was lovely to see the pictures of our Ash Wednesday (Monday) assembly on Facebook this week. Mrs Daly led the liturgy where each child and adult received the ashes as part of their journey beginning Lent. Outside my office, I now have a prayer station where children and adults can pause and bless themselves with Holy Water as a reminder of their baptism.
At St Joseph's this Lent, we are standing in solidarity with our global brothers and sisters by taking part in CAFOD's Big Lent Walk. We are aiming to collectively walk 750km throughout Lent. We will be taking part in walks throughout the week at school to add to our total - some children and staff started their walks today!
Also, you can take part and add some kilometres to our Big Lent Walk total as a family. Please email photos@stjprimary.co.uk telling us where you walked and how far you walked as a family, and feel free to send in any pictures. Also, please share any walks you do outside of school to our social media platforms - we'd love to see how you get on.
You can make a donation directly to CAFOD on our school's Just Giving page. If each child is sponsored £1, we'd raise over £200 for CAFOD.
Find more information by clicking here. As always, thank you for your generosity.

Our Year 2 Class Assembly will be on Friday, 8th March at 9.10am in school and will be about Mother's Day.
Please join us. We will love to see you.
Please be reminded cars cannot stop to drop off children on the zig-zag lines outside the school gates. Neither should we park or stop across people's driveways.
It is illegal and also inconsiderate. One of our neighbours last week was delayed leaving home for an important hospital appointment. Also, a car was stopped on the corner of Larch Avenue, which is extremely hazardous for other road users and pedestrians.
Thank for your support.
