Friday 23rd March 2024 - Issue 26
Happy birthday to all the children and staff who have had or who will be celebrating their birthdays this week.
Blandon Wong
We hope you have had or will have a lovely day!
This week we recognise the following children as Stars of the Week for their effort and contribution to school life:
Joseph Kelly, Leo McShane, George Brown, James Pollard, Vinnie Bannon, Ashton Wells, Ethan Tang, Ayden Leung, Ella Gilmore, Summer Harris, Molly O'Neil Bell and Jake Peet
At St Joseph's this Lent, we are standing in solidarity with our global brothers and sisters by taking part in CAFOD's Big Lent Walk. We are aiming to collectively walk 750km throughout Lent. We will be taking part in walks throughout the week at school to add to our total - some children and staff started their walks today!
Also, you can take part and add some kilometres to our Big Lent Walk total as a family. Please email photos@stjprimary.co.uk telling us where you walked and how far you walked as a family, and feel free to send in any pictures. Also, please share any walks you do outside of school to our social media platforms - we'd love to see how you get on.
You can make a donation directly to CAFOD on our school's Just Giving page. If each child is sponsored £1, we'd raise over £200 for CAFOD.
So far, our children, families and staff have walked over 500km!! Great work everyone.
Find more information by clicking here. As always, thank you for your generosity.
At Active Future we currently provide 1-1 support, breakfast clubs, after School clubs, lunch clubs, PE curriculum support as well as CPD to over 20 schools across Warrington and Wigan.
I have attached a booking link here for our Easter HAF provision. If you are unfamiliar with HAF it is a holiday and food programme which is free for those on free school meals or anyone with a learning disadvantage. We are just asking if all the schools in the area could send out our booking link to those parents whose children are applicable as this is really our only means of advertising it.
Each time we run a HAF provision we have parents telling us they were unaware of HAF so if you could please help us out by forwarding on our booking link it would be greatly appreciated!
Any questions please feel free to ask.

Well done to our Year 6 Netball Team for coming 4th in the County High 5 Netball Finals. Once again, they did us proud! After a late start on the stage and a very early start this morning this group of girls powered through.
Well done to our Year 5 and Year 6 performers who took part in the PAN at the Parr Hall on Tuesday night. They were fantastic!
Our Year 4 children are returning from Robinwood having had a fabulous time.
Thanks to all parents for supporting your children and allowing them to participate in this wonderful retreat.
A good time was had by all!!
It’s that time of the year when we want to review how we are doing in school. It would help immensely if you followed the link below to register as a parent and share your views. Presently, only 12 people have responded. Thanks to them but we would need more to give us a clear picture of how parents perceive our practice.

Year 3 (Mrs Standen) class assembly will be on Thursday 28th March at 9.05am in school as we journey through Holy Week on Maundy Thursday.
Please join us. We will love to see you.
Please be reminded cars cannot stop to drop off children on the zig-zag lines outside the school gates. Neither should we park or stop across people's driveways.
It is illegal and also inconsiderate. One of our neighbours last week was delayed leaving home for an important hospital appointment. Also, a car was stopped on the corner of Larch Avenue, which is extremely hazardous for other road users and pedestrians.
Thank for your support.
