When a faculty member receives Emeritus/a status after termination date, the following Workday processes are completed:
The OFAPD will create an Emeritus Faculty profile. (Name the position the faculty members rank + Emeritus or Emerita, e.g. Associate Professor Emeritus).
After the profile is created, complete the following process:
Select the Pre-Hire record for the retired faculty member(s) who has been granted Emeritus/a status.
Click on the ‘twinkie’ next to their name and select Hire > Contract Contingent Worker
Select the Supervisory Org
The name of the faculty should populate the Existing Pre-Hire field. If not, enter their name.
Complete the Hiring Screen:
Contract Start Date: First day after retirement (after last day of work)
Reason: Contract Contingent Worker > Volunteer Faculty
Position: Select the position created for this faculty member
Contingent Worker Type: Volunteer Faculty
Job Profile: Emeritus Faculty
Time Type: Part time
Location: Select building
Contract Detail Enter Contract End Date: Select June 30, (ten years out)
Job Title: Enter the Rank they retired at + Emeritus(a) e.g. Associate Professor Emeritus
Business Title: Same as Job Title
Hit Submit
This will route thru HR then back to you to Add Academic Appointment
OFAPD Adds Academic Appointment
Select the rank they were when they retired. The Reason Code should be New Appointment. When you get to the Title, you will add “Emeritus or Emerita” after their rank, e.g. Professor Emeritus (male), Professor Emerita (female) – provided they were granted Emeritus/Emerita status prior to entering the appointment. Enter an end date of ten years out. The Identifier should be Emeritus/a-Other.
