Notes:
Individuals paid through the Office of Graduate of Medical Education who are given one year-only faculty appointments for billing purposes
New hybrid faculty appointment applications should be submitted no later than the published deadline dates for the scheduled Appointment, Promotion and Tenure Committee meetings and early enough to allow completion of the appointment prior to the intended start date.
Each packet should include all required forms when submitted. Please contact Andy Griesenauer (andy.griesenauer@health.slu.edu ; 977-8438) if this might cause a critical delay in completing the appointment prior to the intended start date.
Process:
Department to send electronic New Hire Faculty Packet (see below) to the Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development (OFAPD) (andy.griesenauer@health.slu.edu).
After that month's deadline, the OFAPD prepares and sends the Recommendation for Faculty Appointment form and CV to Appointment, Promotion and Tenure Committee for review at their monthly meeting.
After the Appointment, Promotion and Tenure Committee reviews/recommends the new faculty hire, the SOM Dean reviews.
After the SOM Dean reviews/recommends the new faculty hire, the OFAPD completes the appointment letter outside of Workday and sends via email to the new hire, copying the department administrator.
