Notes:
Pre-tenure faculty will be reviewed near the midpoint of the probationary period. The purpose of this review, which is separate from the annual review, is to candidly assess the individual’s progress toward achieving tenure, using established standards.
Process:
Each year, the Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development will email each department chair, department promotion committee chair, and their department administrator to let them know which faculty in their department is due for a mid tenure review.
The department promotion committee chair will work with the internal department promotion committee to schedule a mid tenure review for the faculty member.
The faculty member will submit their current CV to the internal department promotion committee for their review. The committee will use the Mid Tenure Review Template.
The completed Mid Tenure Review is sent to the OFAPD (andy.griesenauer@health.slu.edu)
