We started the week with our seniors heading off to John Paul College for the Lightning Premiership games, where they had a fabulous day of sport and fun. A big thank you to Reagon Haines for organising the entire event in collaboration with JPC and our neighbouring Catholic schools.
On Tuesday, we held our annual Mini Vinnies Fete and raised an incredible $2,743.50 to support the wonderful work of St Vincent de Paul. It was a fantastic community event, led by Zeeta Andrew and our dedicated Mini Vinnies team. The students and staff did a brilliant job, and it was wonderful to see so many families come along to enjoy the afternoon. Today, some of our lucky raffle winners from the fete enjoyed their prizes: a free dress day, extra playtime, special games for their class or lunch in a different classroom!
Signora Colaciello is busy preparing for Italian Day on November 21. It will be a dress-up day, so students have a few weeks to plan their outfits!
We also have poppies for sale in the office leading up to Remembrance Day on November 11. Students can purchase these before and after school.
This week, we also launched our Colour Fun Run, proudly organised by our Parents and Friends. We hope all families have registered online. Each student has received a wristband with a unique code that can be entered on their profile for a chance to win $500! Excitement is already building for this colourful event!

We extend our sincere thanks to all the parents and families who kindly donated baked goods, uniforms, toys, books, and games. Your contributions helped make the day both special and successful. Your kindness and participation truly reflect the caring heart of our community.
Thanks to everyone’s amazing effort and generosity, we were able to raise $2,743.50 (from the fete and additional generous donations), which will be donated to the St Vincent de Paul charity.
Thank you once again for being the heart and hands of Christ in our community.
With gratitude and blessings,
Mini Vinnies Team & Ms Andrew
This week marked the final week of our Rosary for the month.
The children and teachers took time to reflect on Mary’s Magnificat and wrote a special prayer from their hearts to praise and thank God — for their families, friends, and our beautiful world. This moment of reflection reminded us of Mary’s deep faith, humility, and joy in serving God. The students expressed their gratitude in thoughtful and heartfelt ways, recognising the many blessings in their lives. Together as a school community, we gave thanks for God’s love and the special people who help us grow in faith and kindness each day.
As we conclude our Rosary this week, let us continue to carry a prayerful heart and remember that Mary always leads us closer to Jesus.
Let us pray:
Loving God, we thank You for this time of prayer and reflection.
May our hearts remain open to Your love and peace.
Bless our families, our friends, and all those in need around the world.
Through Mary’s intercession, may we continue to grow in faith, hope, and love.
Amen.

Welcome to our Grade 5/6 Liturgy. This coming Sunday we celebrate All Soul’s Day where we remember our family and friends who have departed and are now in a beautiful, safe place with God in heaven.
In today’s Gospel, we hear how Jesus brought a young man, a widow’s only son back to life. As a class we explored how Jesus is full of compassion — he sees the widow’s deep sadness and responds with love and care. Through this miracle, Jesus showed his power over life and death, reminding us that God can bring healing, hope, and new life even in the darkest times. We also discussed how this moment reveals God’s true nature — loving, merciful, and always close to those who are suffering.
We pray that we may remember those who have died and keep them in our hearts.
Lord, hear us.
We ask that you forgive the wrong things that we have done, and help us to stay close to you.
Lord, hear us.
We pray that we may one day share the joys and blessings of eternal life with God.
Lord hear us.
We pray for our family members and friends who have died that they will remain in God’s love forever and ever.
Lord hear us.
Dear God, help us to be kind and compassionate like your Son Jesus bringing peace and love in our daily interactions with others.
Lord hear us.

The year 6 students are starting to put together their plans for the Graduation Video which will be shown at the Graduation ceremony. Filming for the video will take place on MONDAY 24th NOVEMBER. It is important that all year 6 students are at school on that day dressed in sports uniform.
Our senior students have been working hard learning to play the ukulele during the Performing Arts lessons this term.

Each child began with a simple ball of clay, using the traditional pinch pot technique to form the basic shape before transforming it into a unique creature full of personality. From wild, bulging eyes and spiky teeth to twisty horns and textured skin, every monster showcases the students’ creativity and imagination. The attention to detail is impressive—some even added scales, patterned textures, or expressive faces that seem to come to life! These fantastic creations highlight not only the children’s growing skills in sculpture and design but also their confidence in experimenting with new materials and artistic techniques.

We have learned that fable stories usually have animal characters that are personified - meaning they have human traits and personalities in the story. An important part of a fable is the moral or the lesson that the author is trying to teach us. We have been having lots of fun creating personified animal characters and writing our own fable stories that guide our audience to understand right from wrong and encourage proper behaviour and positive choices.
Here are some examples of the fables we have written.

This week the Year 3 students have been learning about probability. On Thursday they conducted a chance experiment where they investigated the concept of whether whispering “roll me a 6” to the dice would increase the chance of the dice landing on a 6.
