Dear Parents,
What a fabulous footy day parade we had today! (see photos in this newsletter). It was wonderful to see students dressed in their favourite AFL team colours, and it was great to see basketball, soccer and rugby represented also. Singing the club songs and parading proudly, on the eve of the AFL finals, is always a highlight at the end of term 3. Thank you to parents who organized club colours and who attended in support.
A big thank you to our hardworking Parents and Friends, who organized a very successful and enjoyable Junior and Senior disco for our students last night. Students loved the opportunity to get together and sing and dance with their friends! My thanks to staff who also attended to support the success of the disco.
You may have noticed a colourful indigenous art work, which includes our school motto of love and unity, that is proudly displayed on the outside brick wall near my office. Thank you to Tahlia Henare (mum of Tori Year 1, Trinity Year 2 and Tilly Foundation 2026) who created this beautiful art work for our school.
Congratulations to our Year 3 and 4 students for their fantastic middle school expo held on Wednesday afternoon this week. Students confidently presented their learnings about the countries of New Zealand, Fiji, and Japan to other students, staff and parents. Well done!
Thank you again to all parents for completing the MACSSIS family surveys. It was originally closing today, but has been extended, and will now close on Sunday evening (21st September) in the hope that parents who haven’t yet had a chance to complete it may do so. At least another 30 parent responses would give us a decent representative sample of families’ feedback for our ongoing school improvement plans. With thanks.
Please note: I will be away for the first 4 weeks of next term on a MACS professional learning trip for principals for the Year of Jubilee and also long service leave. During my absence Irene Stewart will be acting Principal. I thank staff and parents in advance for your support of Irene.
Finally, I would like to thank students, parents and staff for all that has been achieved in learning, friendship and faith formation this term. The home/school partnership is so important to the academic success, self-esteem and wellbeing of all students.
Best wishes to all students, families and staff for a safe and relaxing holiday break. Term 4 will commence on Monday 6th October at the usual time.

The students each made a website about either New Zealand, Japan or Fiji. Students researched information and images to put on their website as well as find out similarities and differences between their chosen country and Australia.
The students enjoyed sharing their learning with their buddies and family members.
