Today we celebrated Pentecost, the Church’s birthday with a special whole school liturgy and many of our students wore orange, red, and yellow symbolising the flames of the Holy Spirit.
In Mr Haines’ part of the newsletter he shares the exciting news about our Cross Country stars. Well done to all participants – we are very proud of the effort you made.
Winter has certainly arrived, bringing with it chilly mornings and cooler daytime temperatures. We encourage all students to wear their labelled jumpers to school. Having a name on a jumper makes it much more likely to be returned to its owner if misplaced. With the cooler weather come runny noses, coughs, and colds. If your child is showing cold or flu symptoms, we kindly ask that you keep them at home to help reduce the spread of infection.
Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on Tuesday July 1st (3:30 -6pm) and on Wednesday July 2nd (2pm - 6pm). This means on Wednesday July 2nd school will finish at 1pm.
Parent-teacher interviews are a great opportunity to:
learn more about your child’s academic, emotional and social development
get to know your child’s teacher
help your child’s teachers understand more about your child
make plans with the teacher about how you can both support your child
We encourage all parents to make a time to meet with your child’s teacher. Parents will be notified via Operoo when bookings for parent teacher interviews are open.
Upcoming Events:
Monday June 9 - King’s Birthday Holiday.
Monday June 16 - School Closure Day
Tuesday July 1 - Parent Teacher Interviews
Wednesday July 2 - Parent Teacher Interviews (School Finishes at 1pm).
Friday July 4 - Last day of Term 4 (School Finishes at 1pm).
Have a lovely long weekend,
Irene

Today, our school community gathered to celebrate a special whole-school Pentecost Liturgy, commemorating the moment when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles—filling them with courage, peace, and the gifts needed to share God’s love with the world.
To mark this joyful occasion, students came dressed in Pentecost colours—red, orange, and yellow—symbolising the flames of the Holy Spirit. They also generously contributed a gold coin. This donation raised on Pentecost, will be sent to support the Frankston Winter Shelter.
The Frankston Winter Shelter is a project of the Frankston churches coming together in unity to support the vulnerable in our local community.
Frankston Winter Shelter aims to offer a bed, a warm meal and safe place for the night across Monday through to Friday each week through the winter months for those experiencing homelessness in the city of Frankston.
Our mission today is to continue to be the heart and hands of Jesus, not just sharing his story, but living it in our everyday actions of compassion, inclusion, and love.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the following students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation:
Alexandra, Milana, Olivia, Indyana, Amelia, Angela, Flynn, Arabella, Charlie, Olivia, Cooper, Jordan, Isaac, Rishona, Addison, Aoife, Lenny, Fiona, Ari, Weston, and Olivia.
On the afternoon of Saturday, 31st May, our Year 3 students received the Sacrament of Reconciliation—a beautiful sacrament of healing, forgiveness, and renewal. It reminds us that God is merciful, and that showing mercy and forgiveness is a true strength, not a weakness.
In a world that deeply needs compassion and understanding, this moment was a powerful reminder of the peace that comes from reconciliation.
Saturday evening’s celebration was very special, as Fr. Martin warmly welcomed our students and their families into this important step in their faith journey. There is no doubt that God’s grace was present during these celebrations, and it was truly a meaningful and grace-filled time for all involved.

The students in FRF and FRZ have been using their drawing skills using lines, shape and oil pastels to create their own koala.
I am so proud of their achievements :)
Did you know that koalas are not called koala bears!
They only eat eucalyptus leaves.
They sleep during the day.
They have fingerprints that are individual and very like humans.
A baby koala is called a Joey!
The lids can be from milk containers, laundry detergents, medicine lids... the more shapes, sizes and colour the better!
They can be dropped off at the ART HUB on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Thanks in advance for your help !

We are all looking forward to welcoming Wyniss to perform for us. All year levels are currently learning about their music, instruments, costumes and culture and learning to sing and play some of their music.
The photos below show students learning about WAMI FISHING music and string figure traditions. WAMI are string figures that are used as part of Wyniss’ songs. Here, the students have created a spear out of string for the song WAMI FAST FISHING.
