Dear Parents,
A reminder to all parents that students should not be at school unsupervised before 8:15 a.m. each morning. Families that need to drop students at school before this time, need to book students in to our Before School Hours Care program run by Camp Australia. This is an important student safety issue. https://campaustralia.com.au/
You may have noticed that two new yellow bollards have been installed in the front playground. This is to improve student safety in our drop off and pick up area when cars arrive before and after school. Thank you for driving slowly and carefully, and for being patient with other drivers when you are inside school grounds.
Our final 2 classes of senior students really enjoyed their Hands On Science incursion today! (Please see photos further on in this newsletter).
Thank you to our Year 3 and 4 parents who have supplied information about their child/ren’s swimming ability to Paul Sadler Swimland. This information will assist the swimming teachers to compose classes of students with like ability. A reminder that the swimming program commences next Monday (26th May).
Our Senior school staff and students are looking forward to leaving for camp next Wednesday (28th May). They will return to school on Friday (30th May). To assist with final preparations, I ask all parents to carefully read the information that has been sent home re medications, dietary needs, clothing etc. There is a possibility of wet weather at some stage, so please ensure all students have wet weather gear, and warm appropriate clothing for the planned activities. With thanks.
Congratulations and best wishes to our 12 students (Lexi, Mya, Malibu, Mary, Ruby, Nevaeh, Max, Charlotte, Sofia, Nixon, Rupert and Hamish) who will compete in the Divisional Cross-Country competition on Wednesday 4th June at Hastings Foreshore. Further information will be sent to parents soon.
I spoke to the School Advisory Council (SAC) this week re the Frankston Winter Shelter program that is being run by Churches in the Frankston area, including our parish of St. Anne’s. Please see further information in the parish newsletter about how you can support this program for people in need of food and shelter during the cold winter months ahead.
My prayerful best wishes to students who will make the Sacrament of Reconciliation at St. Anne’s Church, on Saturday 31st May at 3:00 p.m.
As you know, the school will be closed on Monday 9th June for the Kings birthday public holiday.
The school will also be closed on Monday 16th June for a staff professional learning day.
Thank you to Irene Stewart, who will be Acting Principal for the next two weeks, as I will be on leave. I will be back at school on Tuesday 10th June.
Some advance notice that our Parent/Teacher interviews will take place on Tuesday 1st July (3:30 – 6:00 p.m.) and Wednesday 2nd July (2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.) Please note that school will finish at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday 2nd July to facilitate this.
Regards,
Paul Dwyer, Principal

As we embark on a new leader for our church the students have been learning and exploring a little about who Pope Leo is. We pray for Pope Leo as he begins to guide our church.
Faithful God, You guide us on the path of life and your goodness is our constant companion.
Be with our new Shepherd, Pope Leo XIV, in his service of the Church. Fill him with the power of your Spirit, the peace of your presence and the compassion of Christ.
May he walk with you, in wisdom and humility, and lead us, together with all God’s people, to embody your love for the world.
Amen.
The following is their reflection and prayers:
In today’s gospel, Jesus gives the disciples a very special gift – the gift of peace. As a class we reflected on what peace looks, feels and sounds like. We further discussed things we can say or do to be peacemakers in challenging situations at school and at home.
We reflected on times that we and others have fought and argued. We discussed how these challenging times make us feel, but also the deep sense of peace we feel when we stop fighting and forgive each other. This is Jesus’ gift working within us. Each of us chose a symbol of peace; a dove or heart, and wrote about how we can be peacemakers by talking or getting help.
We would also like to offer this Liturgy, especially for those countries who are facing war and hardship, that God may bless them with the gift of comfort and peace.
Dear God, we pray that our Church be led by the Holy Spirit so that we may live in your love.
Let us pray to the Lord.
Dear God, we pray that we always treat others with respect and love.
Let us pray to the Lord.
Loving God, we pray for courage to help others who have been treated unfairly.
Let us pray to the Lord.
Dear God, we pray for world peace. Especially for countries experiencing wars, that they may be blessed with the gift of peace and the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Let us pray to the Lord.

They have learnt about the language of what fore, middle and background of a landscape means and have really enjoyed blending paint colours together to make the waters of Antartica . The students also used a simple fork to add texture to their water.
A fantastic and messy but fun art task.
The lids can be from milk containers, laundry detergents, medicine lids... the more shapes, sizes and colour the better!
They can be dropped off at the ART HUB on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Thanks in advance for your help !
