Loved and wanted--but had to be surrendered
Morrigan came from a responsible college student in Crystal Lake. Aaron
had worked as a vet tech for two years and had taken in a cat (with his
landlord`s permission) a while back. When he saw Morrigan, he fell in love
and asked if he could also have a ferret. The answer was yes---for several
months anyway...
We got a call on October 30th, 2006. The landlord had changed her mind.
Aaron was very upset at having to give up the little deaf girl he loved. He
did some research and found us. He now knows where his baby is and can
at least visit her from time to time--and maybe volunteer. (He lives an
hour away.) Because Kurt commutes to Crystal Lake to work every day,
he drove to Aaron`s after work, met Aaron, picked up Morrigan, and
brought her home. Kurt says the landlord may now also evict the cat.
So often we get calls from someone who has sneaked a ferret into a "NO
PETS" place. This time, the situation was so different.
We would now like to encourage renters with permission to keep pets to
GET IT IN WRITING!!!! Hopefully this sad experience can be avoided for
someone else out there.
Morrigan is about eight months old and just got out of quarantine. She gets
along famously with the Swiper group and may be joining them!
More to follow!!
