Australian Recoveries and Collections named in harassment case

Debt Collection Australian Recoveries and Collections of Edgecliff NSW has been named in a NSW Criminal court case examining allegations of harassment by private car park companies.

The Daily Telegraph on 4th September 2013, reported that Siebel Kaan contact the debt collection agency Australian Recoveries & Collections who had sent her a letter of demand on behalf of Australian National Car Parks. Ms Kaan rang a man from Australian Recoveries & Collections but said "he was pushy and intimidating" and "he was rude to me". Ms Kaan said she was very shaky, nervous and upset by the way the man treated her. The Sydney Morning Herald on 4th September 2013 named the employee as Hamish Smith.

The against Australian National Car Parks is being run by the NSW office of Fair Trading in the Parramatta criminal court. The case is completed, and was eventually withdrawn by the prosecution.

Hamish Smith is a debt collector employed by Australian Recoveries and Collections. Smith specialises in collecting debt alleged to be owed by private parking company Australian National Car Parks.

This website has received many similar complaints from drivers who claim that Mr Smith is rude and brash.
