ANCP car park ban

A number of people have received received notifications on social media from a person using the name of Ron Dalbdora at Australian National Car Parks. The threats look like this:

Please take notice that I as a delegated representative of Australian National Car Parks have decided that you are prohibited from entering our car parks in NSW.

This prohibition takes effect on Monday 29th of October at 9am. The ban prohibits you from entering our car parks weather by foot or by vehicle. This means you are not permitted to go through our carparks to access shops. This ban is in force until notified by us otherwise. If you enter our car parks you will be committing a criminal offence under Section 4 of the Inclosed Lands Protection Act 1901. You may receive a criminal conviction if found guilty of this offence.

You may be liable to be detained until delivered to the custody of a police officer or removed from the premises using reasonable force.

I note that our parking officers have been provided with a photograph of you and it is highly likely our staff will consequently take the appropriate action.

Kind Regards,

Ron Dalbora,

General Manager,

Australian National Car Parks

Another person by the name of Darren Pearce who claims to also be an employee of Australian National Car Parks has also told us via social media that they (ANCP) are banning people from ANCP managed car parks. I have had private discussions with both Darren and Ron and both of them have intimate knowledge of the car park industry, debt collection techniques, court cases involving ANCP, and detailed operation information of ANCP. They do appear to be employees of Australian National Car Parks, but this hasn't been able to be confirmed positively. I have asked them confirm they are employees of Australian National Car Parks, by sending me an email from name@ancp.com.au, but they have refused. So we have gone to the Woolworths Facebook page to ask Woolworth to confirm if the bans are true.

The following discussions on Facebook are currently under way with Woolworths. At this stage, we would like people to concentrate their comments on the first one (http://www.facebook.com/woolworths/posts/399704286768375). Suggested comments (based on your personal siutation) are:

- I have been fined, yet I was not the driver on that day and therefore I refused to pay. Will I still be banned?

- My whole family and extended family shop at Woolworths. If I get banned, they will all shop elsewhere.

- Are these bans from Woolworths car parks approved by Woolworths?

- I got fined for going 5 mintues over the 2 hour limit. Are you really going to ban me from your car parks for that? I would spend thousands of dollars at Woolworths every year.

- Woolworths, can you please confirm these bans?

- Woolworths, is this for real?

- Woolworths, why do you fine people $88 for being 10 minutes over the allocated 2 hours. Why not something more reasonable like $10 or even $20?
