Did you know that manifestation is actually a powerful technology that was taught in all the ancient mystery schools, including those of Egypt? This knowledge has since been suppressed and intentionally hidden, for many reasons. The good news is, we are finally awakening, and this powerful knowledge is being restored.
Many will say that the law of attraction doesn’t work, and this is very true — if you don’t possess all the key components necessary for success. But, when all the pieces of this technology come together, and you consciously use them properly, you have the makings of a Super Power.
I first discovered this Super Power, in the mid 1970’s, when I was twelve years old. It was the holiday season, and the only gift that I wanted for Christmas was a green ice skating skirt to match the laces on my ice skates. I had it in my mind that if I wore, this very particular green skating skirt, I would be able to skate like world-class figure skater Dorothy Hamill.
It was the night before Christmas, and my parents were taking me out for our traditional holiday dinner. As we were driving up Northern Blvd, in Queens, New York, my mother sadly announced that, despite her best efforts, she could not find a skating skirt like the one I wanted, and especially not in the exact shade of green. She said, “I want you to know this now, so that you won’t be disappointed on Christmas day.”
I knew she was telling me the truth, but you see, I also KNEW that I was getting that green skating skirt. I had been imagining it for weeks. I clearly saw myself on the ice rink doing spins and figure eights, just like Dorothy! I believed that the green skating skirt held the key to my success, and I had to have it! Remember, I was twelve. So, even as my mother was telling me it was impossible, I continued to imagine what I desired, without doubt or hesitation.
Soon, we were pulling up in front of the restaurant, only to discover that the store next to the restaurant had moved out and in its place was a sporting goods store, and, there IT was – in the window on a manikin – MY Green Skating Skirt!! I practically jumped out of the moving car, with my mother in tow. The store was closed, but I could see the store clerk inside. I banged on the glass, until my relentless enthusiasm made her open the door. It was the only skating skirt that they had in the whole store, and it was my size – and, yes, it was the perfect shade of green. It was even on sale. My shocked mother’s mantra was, “I can’t believe it.” But, I did, and that is the whole point!
On Christmas day, I put on the skirt, got out on the ice, and without a second thought, I gracefully spun, twirled and figure-eighted my way around the rink. When someone asked how many years I had been training, and I answered, “None,” it occurred to me that my expertise on the ice was technically impossible, yet, I was doing it.
It took me about ten years to understand how the power of my mind instantly made me a figure skater, but it would take me decades to understand how I manifested that green skating skirt. What was this magic key that I had accidentally stumbled upon, and how could I use it, at will, to create or attract, what I desire? That green skating skirt set me on a life-long journey of metaphysical discovery.
After years of searching, researching and traveling to ancient metaphysical sites, I now understand this ancient technology of manifestation, and, in fact, it is easy to teach and simple to duplicate. I have successfully utilized this powerful method, time and time again, and I have taught it to friends, family, clients and students, all around the world, and, now, I am going to share it, as my holiday gift to you.
In your mind and body, you possess the greatest, and most sophisticated, technology in all the world, and when you know precisely, and accurately, how to use it, you have the power to consciously create the life you most desire.
There are seven steps to creating anything that you desire.
Know what you want with clarity and certainty.
Know that you are unconditionally worthy to be, do or have what you desire.
Imagine what you want, as if, it has already happened.
Do not concern yourself with “how” it will manifest.
Know that it is already done, even in the face of opposing evidence.
Stay “tuned” to your desire, without doubt or hesitation, for as long as it takes to manifest.
Take action when inspired.
There is literally nothing that you cannot manifest with this formula, but, in order to make it work, there is no room for deviation. Conscious Manifestation often does not work if:
If you have split energy, and you are not sure what you want.
If you don’t believe that you are worthy of what you want.
If you don’t imagine what you want, as if, it has already happened.
If you become over-concerned with how it has to happen.
If you believe evidence that says it will not happen.
If you give in to doubt, discouragement or uncertainty, or you give up after a certain period of time.
If you don’t follow your inner guidance, and you fail to take inspired action.
Having said all this, we have all had experiences of manifesting what we desire, without following every aspect of this formula. We can sometimes manifest even when we are sloppy with our energy, but think about all the times that you did not manifest what you wanted. If we analyzed your missed attempts at manifesting, according to this formula, you would be able to ascertain where you went wrong, and why particular desires did not manifest.
In other articles, and my soon to be released book, “Seducing the Field” I discuss these various components of manifestation, but the key point that I would like to focus on, for the purpose of this article, is Step #3 – Imagination.
Imagination is the most pivotal, yet, overlooked step in the manifestation process. When you understand the super power of your imagination, and, you know how to use it purposefully, and consciously, you possess the golden key to conscious creation.
Although we might rarely think about it, imagination is the foundation of our lives. From a logical standpoint, it is easy to see that virtually everything begins with imagination; every book written, every house built, every painting painted, every invention invented, every song sung – all the result of imagination.
Imagination pre-empts all manifestation. If you take away imagination, you take away the creation process of life. On a metaphysical level, you might even say that the sky, the stars and the air is all imagined into being, by an omnipotent power.
It is not difficult to see the connection between imagination and materialization, but what if you could consciously utilize your imagination to create or manifest anything that you desire?
This might sound impossible, until you consider that the world, in which we live, may not be anything more than a hologram. The backdrop of this 3D hologram is what is known as the Quantum Field. It is believed that before anything materializes in reality, it first manifests (as vibration) in the Quantum Field. The Field is consciousness itself, and it responds to our thoughts, beliefs and emotions, but, the way in which, we most powerfully command the Field is through imagination.
We often think of Imagination as thought or visualization, but that is just part of the equation. When we imagine something, we experience it internally, as if, it already exists. This means that there is a full sensory experience associated with imagination that may also include imagined sounds, tastes, bodily sensations and emotions. When I imagined skating in the green skirt, I heard the sound of my skates scrape the ice, I felt the cold against my skin and I felt the emotion of exhilaration, as I landed a jump for the first time.
You may ask, “If we can manifest our dreams and desires, simply by using the power of imagination, then why do we continuously imagine things that we do not want?”
First, you must understand that Imagination is something that everyone is born with and every child possesses until disempowering beliefs override imagination. Instead of supporting and cultivating this great gift of imagination, most systems of education are designed to reward us for memorization and thinking logically. Traditional success in society is very much dependent on our ability and willingness to think rationally, all the while, imagination is deemed silly and useless, and sometimes children are even punished for “making things up.” As logic, and following the norm, is rewarded, imagination is de-valued and undermined. By the time we reach adulthood, most of us have lost our ability to imagine what we really desire. The most powerful ability that humans possess is carelessly buried under societal nonsense.
The part of the brain that is most active in the majority of people is the part of the brain responsible for survival. Because we do not remember that we are powerful creators, we believe that we must be alert to possible danger. This means that our minds automatically sort for potential threats, and we must also pro-actively imagine possible threats so that we might recognize them, and protect ourselves. If you are stranded in a dangerous environment, or situation, this is probably a good strategy, but this is a terrible strategy, if you want to consciously create your life.
Without knowing it, we are in the habit of imagining what we do not want, and noticing all that is wrong, and as we unconsciously imagine, we unconsciously create. How would you react to the following?
On your way driving to an important appointment, there is an unexpected traffic jam. What do imagine? Do you imagine being stuck in traffic, missing your appointment, and having to deal with negative consequences, or do you imagine everything working out perfectly and arriving easily on time?

It’s amazing how the big questions in life are pushed to the end of the line. Sure everyone wonders about the “big stuff” on and off, but their lives are too preoccupied with other issues that they’ve been told are more pressing and important – when it’s nothing of the sort.
This applies directly to the ongoing awakening and how to put our best foot forward in times like these. How best can we effect change? What is the most productive and effective course of action in our personal lives?
With everything at stake at this crucial juncture in history, these questions become profoundly important. And the answers just may surprise each of us.
I can guarantee that any real truth seeker is facing a lot of personal challenges at this time. It may be health issues, relationship challenges and perhaps changes, or finding a sound spiritual orientation in these rapidly shifting vibrations. A lot is going on, and this is as it should be.
We’re being honed and prepared for what lay ahead of us.
If our hearts are confused, anxious, distracted or over-burdened we won’t be much good to anyone. We may even be carrying baggage unknown to us that Universe is peeling away to free us for our next challenges. These can often be ingrained psychic and subconscious memes that keep playing out in our daily lives and reactions unbeknownst to us that are holding us back.
We may even be subjecting ourselves to triggers that bring on these attached, reactive behaviors while thinking these are necessary or even foundational influences in our lives. These are not easy to face up to, especially when it touches on things we consider dearest to us, but if we’re to keep progressing in truly conscious awakening face them we must.
It only stands to reason then that these have to be sorted out first if we’re to be the true warriors we are meant to be.
But it’s not easy.
Anyone who has awakened has had this same fundamental experience: Everything began anew. Once we see the true bigger picture of who we are and what we’re here for, everything gets reset and we start on a brand new path in life.
However, we tend to emphasize part 2 of the above statement and look quickly for our role here and what we can do about this ugly matrix trying to control and close in on us. That’s very important, but we can’t short circuit part 1 too quickly. Who are we? This naturally continues to come up as we progress through the maze of rabbit holes and broaden our perspectives. The discovery and changes just occur, as long as we keep yielding to them and making the necessary breaks with our past programming.
But the personal challenges and realizations will get deeper and deeper, and they come with a price. It’s the same one every time – letting go – sometimes even of our most cherished beliefs or personal attachments. It can be quite painful, but it’s designed for our good, as well as the good of others whom we’ll be freer to help and influence with a truly clear signal.
I’ve found for myself, with the help of very loving friends with whom I could open up, that issues that have been holding me back without my even knowing it have a lot to do with primal character traits that were formed since childhood. I’m intensely aware of so many aspects of this whole realm of study in personal attributes, societal influences and our spiritual path, but seeing these things in oneself can come as a real shock.
These realizations can come at a very dear price, but it’s a price worth paying. It’s obviously different for everyone, but if we don’t see in ourselves our reactive mechanisms that still need healing then we’re going to run into problems. Attributes like deep seated insecurity stemming from years of emotional suppression, neglect and feelings of abandonment develop very strong reactive defense and sublimated cover-up mechanisms that we accept as natural or “normal” when they aren’t in the least.
Most everyone raised in this world has been terribly abused at some point or other. The very nature of child and adolescent rearing in this callous world seriously wounds our spirits and forms habitual responses that can only be healed when we embrace that inner child and let it know it’s OK to experience and express that trauma as we truly face ourselves.
That’s when the chains fall off and the deep empowerment begins.
I’m no psychologist but human nature I know because I am human, and we all have profound commonalities both in this 3-D dimension and in the collective consciousness. We’re interwoven, which is why the matrix of deceit endeavors so hard to break up our honest and heartfelt communing with each other in every way possible, even pitting us against each other, when our closeness and shared experience is our very strength.
But we can only come together after we come apart from the old, including our old selves. We have to first get free of our previous mindsets, habits, emotional baggage and whatever is in the way or holding us back, whether we realize it fully or not. From there we’ll see more clearly, our motives will be more pure, and we’ll be much more effective in everything we say and do.
The price is everything, but the rewards and results are beyond comprehension. Those can be pretty difficult to see when you’re passing through the “valley of death” of the old but they will appear. You’ll get hints along the way. And the more readily we let go in full confidence that Universe is right there with us and that the experience is not a “bad” one or “wrong” at some level the easier it gets.
But it can be quite painful.
As the world turns darker people are naturally drawing closer to each other. No matter how much they fully grasp what’s going on in the world, people tend to pull together in small more tightly knit groups with those they love and trust.
This is a drawing for strength and support, which we all need, and now more than ever.
For the awakened this can be more challenging to fulfill. Most of us are scattered about and connected via the internet where we can find others with the same understanding and perspective. That’s our true family and fully drawing together may not be that easy.
Communities are forming across the world. We are finding each other and many of us have been developing wonderful relationships with others with whom we resonate. Now is the time to further cultivate those relationships and perhaps make some hard decisions to prepare for what’s ahead.
This does not preclude ongoing activism of every sort, in fact we need that more than ever, but most everyone can feel the shift has stepped up and is earnestly moving us in new and very challenging ways.
I’m reminded of the famous monkey trap analogy, where a box is baited with a treat with only enough room for the monkey’s hand to get into it. Once he grabs the treat he supposedly won’t let go of it and is not able to pull his hand out of the box.
Trapped by his own holding on.
We all do this. The point here is a tremendous change is taking place on many levels. The vibrational shift affects everything at every level and requires adaptation, movement and innovation, even if only on a spiritual level. But the key to freedom and being and expressing our true selves is letting go, detachment.
Therein lies our primary challenge. Will we be a landscape of willfully trapped monkeys not willing to let go of whatever it may be that we think we need, are attached to or stubbornly holding on to? Or will we be a liberated army of fully free warriors ready to do battle in this last ditch fight for planet earth?
It’s up to each of us to decide.
As for me, I paid admission to this a long time ago and have no intention of stopping short for any reason or cherished or coveted idea or attachment. It’s all or nothing. And that’s freedom, which only breeds more freedom, empowerment and alignment with Universe.
Onward. There’s really nothing to lose. Our need for attachments is illusory and what’s holding on to them needs to simply let go. It will probably be quite painful, but it will subside. Just don’t hurry out of the experience, that’s where the real learning takes place.
Draw close to loved ones during this time, but keep your pursuit hot and determination kindled.
Love always, Zen

“No person, no place, and no thing has any power over us, for ‘we’ are the only thinkers in our mind. When we create peace and harmony and balance in our minds, we will find it in our lives.” ~Louise L. Hay
Seven years ago I felt a tangible sense of despondency about where my life was heading.
Having ended a six-year relationship, I found myself alone, feeling isolated, often with only a bottle of wine (or two) for company on a weekend. For the first time ever I wondered if I had depression.
After weeks of feeling helpless and sitting on my sofa crying, I decided enough was enough and started taking action to turn my life around.
In doing so I discovered the “Human Givens Basic Needs.” Suddenly, everything made sense to me.
I realized I didn’t have depression; I just hadn’t been meeting my basic needs in a healthy and balanced way.
Working through the basic needs I scored myself a number between one and ten for each, with ten being fully met.
After taking action and pursuing a new diploma, I reflected on how much better I was meeting my basic needs for control, creativity, and stimulation, and how much happier and alive I felt as a result.
I also recognized that I was meeting my need for status in a new way, as people were amazed when I told them I what I was studying.
Seven years on, I have never forgotten the basic needs. Every six months I take a few hours out to do a stock check of my life to see how well I am meeting each of the needs, and where I need to take action or do something different.
At the moment I am training for my third marathon, which is meeting so many of my basic needs in one hit!
People tell me how awesome it is that I am running a marathon (attention and status), I look after my body better (mind/body connection), I have a goal (purpose), and I’m doing something positive with my time (creativity, stimulation, and sense of control).
As we head into the New Year, I’d invite you to take an evening, curl up warm, put on some music you enjoy, and take a stock check of your life.
Look at each of the different needs and mark out of ten (ten being fully met) how well you are meeting each one, and how.
Where you are not meeting a need fully, don’t worry. Instead, think about what actions you can take to improve this area, and write down some steps to achieving that.
Rather than trying to improve every area of your life all at once, I suggest focusing first on meeting one need that would make a considerable difference in your life, and then moving onto another.
Like me with my marathon, you may find that while meeting one need, you end up meeting others naturally as a result.
Finally, put your stock check or action plan somewhere you can see it daily.
1. The need for attention
We need quality attention from the people in our lives. More and more people in the world live alone. Unless your needs are being met elsewhere, a lack of attention can lead to low self-esteem, feelings of loneliness, and a lack of connection.
Join a meet up group, do an evening course, join a fitness group—anything that gets you out there and talking to like-minded people.
2. Mind-body connection
The way we look after ourselves physically directly impacts on our psychological well-being. Feed your body good food and you’ll feel good. (That doesn’t mean pizza and wine!) Get out in the fresh air and get moving to get your serotonin and endorphins levels pumping, making you feel more alive.
3. Purpose and goals
Having a purpose or goal adds meaning to your life. Sign up for a 5K charity run, take up a night class, or volunteer for a local charity. Use your time to do the things you enjoy.
4. Connection to something greater than ourselves
A sense of connection to like-minded people or others who share your perceptions and work for a common goal is important. I chose to run one of my marathons for a homeless charity, for example.
It may be being part of a group raising awareness about a shared cause, or working for an organization that shares your values.
5. Creativity and stimulation
Boredom and a lack of achievement can leave you feeling unsatisfied and depressed. Spending time reading about a subject that interests you, learning a new skill or craft, or doing anything that stimulates the creative part of your brain will see you feeling happier and more stimulated.
6. Sense of security and safety
Without a sense of security and safety you can feel anxious. You don’t have to own your home to feel secure. Security can come from having a supportive partner and family or even changing your beliefs about what security and safety mean to you.
7. Intimacy and connection
It’s important to feel that at least one person really knows you for who you are. Intimacy and connection don’t require a romantic partner; it can just be a close relationship with someone, even your pet!
8. Sense of control
Feeling that you have no control in a given situation or in life can lead to feelings of hopelessness. In some cases people will over-control to compensate for feeling helpless. Trying to control people and situations you have no influence over will only suck your energy. Control the one thing you can—you.
9. The need for status
Being recognized for your talents helps meet your need for status. Take action to do something you have always wanted to do, such as a jewelry-making course, signing up to a sporting group, taking up dressmaking, or volunteering your talents where they would be well received.
—
Small changes in your life can create a big ripple effect, and, like me, you may be surprised by how much happier, healthier, and alive you will feel as a result.
