Sunday Family Humour 13th December

Sunday Family Humour has developed from the humble beginnings

of exchanging humorous and interesting emails between friends

into a weekly issue with 4000 readers and has continued publication with only minor interruptions for over seven years.

The very early issues were maybe a little lewd by today's standards, and were certainly somewhat crude in formatting and presentation. The very early issues were called just Sunday Humour, wit the intention of replicting the pleasure of reading England's Sunday Times, which was always a glossy and very interesting publication. It was done on a Sunday because it was not Monday to Friday stuff!

It was only in later years when the readership migrated over the Atlantic and changed from a small and mainly British readership, that people started forming a connotation between Sunday and religion. There is no such connotation. Sundays are strictly for humour, so any religion had better be funny!

The level of acceptability for articles has become more refined over the years as readers have made suggestions, and some stories that I had thought might be OK were criticised, until now criticism, though still present, is somewhat rare.

These index pages provides access to each of the 7000+ articles (which are split over thirteen sites).

Lexophile

Lexophile is a word used to describe those that have a love for words, such as "you can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish", or "to write with a broken pencil is pointless." A competition to see who can come up with the best lexophiles is held every year...

Some you have seen. This year's winning submission is posted at the very end.

... When fish are in schools, they sometimes take debate.

... A thief who stole a calendar got twelve months.

... When the smog lifts in Los Angeles U.C.L.A.

... The batteries were given out free of charge.

... A dentist and a manicurist married. They fought tooth and nail.

... A will is a dead giveaway.

... With her marriage, she got a new name and a dress.

... A boiled egg is hard to beat.

... When you've seen one shopping center you've seen a mall.

... Police were summoned to a daycare center where a three-year-old was resisting a rest.

... Did you hear about the fellow whose entire left side was cut off? He's all right now.

... A bicycle can't stand alone; it's just two tired.

... When a clock is hungry it goes back four seconds.

... The guy who fell onto an upholstery machine is now fully recovered.

... He had a photographic memory which was never developed.

... When she saw her first strands of grey hair she thought she'd dye.

... Acupuncture is a jab well done. That's the point of it.

And the cream of the twisted crop:

... Those who get too big for their pants will be totally exposed in the end.

Drone FPV Racing

Drone FPV (First Person View) racing is a fast-growing and exciting sport that may take the world by storm in the years ahead.

These drone pilots are truly ahead of the curve when it comes to flying quadcopters and multi-rotors alike, such as the QAV250 by Lumenier. The super tiny drones are the Blade Nano QX.

First Person View (FPV) allows the pilots a real time video feed, making it possible to fly harder and faster than if they were flying by line of site.

This convergence of new technologies is really the closest that you can get to Star Wars pod racing in real life.
