After the networking social and our meal, STC NY Metro Chapter President Scott McCoy discusses digital media literacy. Digital literacy includes:
Inserting video into help systems
Aspects of social media that engage viewers and users
Gamification, with its simulated challenges to move participants though the content
Despite substantial writing about digital media literacy, today's technical communicators may be ingrained and limited by the technology available at their companies.

You can use current authoring and e-learning technology to create interactive and engaging learning presentations and help components.

About Scott McCoy
Scott is an instructional designer and technical communicator, as well as an adjunct professor in City Tech's Professional and Technical Writing program.
Among the courses that Professor McCoy teaches are Digital Storytelling, Writing with New Media, and Advanced Technical Writing for Non-Professionals.
