1.2 Identify the error messages caused by Kaspersky

Kaspersky has launch variety of products in year 2011, but very common use in home or small business are:

a) Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 (featuring Firewall setting)

b) Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 (common setting)

Usually, you can see this Kaspersky big icon appearing on right top of desktop.

Error message possibility causes by Kaspersky Internet Security 2011.

a) SQL Financial Accounting has stopped working.

-> Check online for a solution and close the program

-> Close the program (click this)

Reason: Kaspersky has RESTRICTED the SQL Accounting application.

b) Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item.

Reason: Kaspersky has BLOCKED the SQL Accounting application.

c) Unable to complete network request to host “xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx”. Failed to establish a connection. A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable network.

Reason: This is happens to client machine trying to connect to the SQL Accounting server where the client machine installed with Kaspersky Internet Security 2011.

Read below for more corrective action.

A) RESTRICT ACTION TO SQL ACCOUNTING APPLICATION

1. First time install the SQL Accounting, the Kaspersky will prompt the Application Control warning. The message is

"Starting a potentially dangerous application:

SQL Financial Accounting Setup! without a digital signature, having a high danger rating"

2. If end-user has click ‘Restrict’, run the SQL Accounting setup file half-way will be prompted the error message. Click close the program.

3. Finish and launch the SQL Accounting, next error message will be prompted. Click OK to exit the error.

Corrective Action

4. Click on the Kaspersky setting.

5. Click on Firewall and then Settings…button.

6. Under the application rules, you have to drag the SQL Financial Accounting Setup from High Restricted and drop to Low Restricted. All related to SQL Accounting application should failed under Low Restricted.

7. Next time, you have run the SQL Accounting setup file will not prompt any error message.

B) BLOCK ACTION TO SQL ACCOUNTING APPLICATION

1. First time install the SQL Accounting, the Kaspersky will prompt the Application Control warning.

2. If end-user has click ‘Block’, run the SQL Accounting setup file will be prompted the error message. Click OK to exit.

3. SQL Accounting will not get installed into the computer.

Corrective Action

4. At client machine, click on the Kaspersky setting.

5. Click on Firewall and then Settings…button.6. Under the application rules, you have to drag the SQL Financial Accounting Setup from Untrusted and drop to Low Restricted. All related to SQL Accounting application should failed under Low Restricted.

7. Next time, you have run the SQL Accounting setup file will not prompt any error message.

C) CLIENT MACHINE CANNOT CONNECT THE SQL ACCOUNTING TO MAIN PC/ SERVER

1. Error message prompted when trying to login SQL Accounting.

Error while trying to login to Firebird 1.5 server. Please verify the Server Configuration in Database Collection File.

Error message:

Unable to complete network request to host "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx".

Failed to establish a connection.

A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable network. TDBXError.

Ensure that the Firebird Server setting is correctly defined at Main PC/Server.

2. Click OK exit the error message.

Corrective Action

3. Click on the Kaspersky setting.

4. Click on Firewall and then Settings…button.

5. Under the application rules, you have to drag the SQL Financial Accounting and SQL Financial Setup (even this is not the main causes, but recommended to move) from High Restricted and drop to Low Restricted. All related to SQL Accounting application should failed under Low Restricted.6. Next time, you have login the SQL Accounting will not prompt any error message.
