1. St. John Chapter 3 v16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
“These words mean that thankfully God’s love doesn’t depend on who I am, where I came from….”
2. Romans Chapter 8 v.38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
“The centre point of faith. The motivation for service.”
“The words encourage me in my Christian life and walk, and sustain me in the hard times, as I continue to love and trust God. They mean everything to me, knowing that God always works for my good in all things and I can trust in Him to do this.”
3. 1 Corinthians 13 v 12,13
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
“These words show that love is more important than anything else.”
“This is how we should all be with each other, the hope for mankind. They give me hope for the future and bring back treasured memories of the past.”
4. Micah 6 v 8
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
“These words keep me humble and thankful for the personal relationship I have with God.”
5. Jeremiah 29 v 11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
“These words were instrumental in stopping me falling back into depression as I spoke in faith. God has a good plan for me and for all those I love, no matter how bad things are.”
6. St. John Chapter 13 v34
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
“A command direct from Jesus – to love one another – our sign to the world of God’s love for us all. They give me confidence that there is nothing more simple – love one another.”
7. Psalm 139 …..v13,14
……For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well…..
“When I was pregnant this verse came to me. How wonderful to know that God was ‘knitting together’ my children even in my womb!”
8. Psalm 46 v10
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
“As a child I stayed at my Gran’s - she had a postcard of the Holy Land with this text. It has lived with me ever since; I am still trying to ‘be still’.”

10. Joshua 1 v 9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
“This verse was my old school motto which I’ve always remembered. The words give me strength and hope in times of trouble.”
“This verse was the reading from ‘Daily Light’ for January 2nd 1950, the day I began my SRN training! The words give me great assurance and I insert it in the Bibles given to the grandchildren.”
