After serving the area since 2004 until changes in local authority service provision, South Holland Nightstop has closed its many doors from 20 November 2013, offering thanks to everyone who has supported over the years.

South Holland Nightstop has been helping to provide urgent shelter for 16-18 year-olds, in association with Social Services, since 2004; this extract from the Spalding Guardian in September expressed the need for more volunteers.

May 2013: Social Issues in the Fens have launched a Facebook page; the forum shares good news and practice from churches and community groups and draws on local and regional resources to help nurture a respectful and supportive environment across South Holland

Saturday 18 May, 11:00am: The People's Parade meeting in the auditorium at the South Holland centre, chaired by John Hayes MP, organised by Phil Scarlett of the the Spalding & District Chamber of Commerce. Entry by [free] ticket only from the South Holland Centre; doors open 10:30am, expected to conclude by 1:00pm.It is understood that the meeting was to consider proposals for the future of 'Festivals of Food, Flowers and Arts' and 'Tulip Heritage Trails' as well as the place of Church Flower Festivals and then decide how to progress the formation of a 'stakeholders' steering group to lead on items such as the sourcing of sponsorship and funding and the overall organisation of any events.

Lent Lecture series ran from 25 February to 25 March through Lent at Spalding Baptist, PE11 1BT. Each lecture has been recorded and may be heard via the Baptist church website.

Local Flower Festivals are listed on this website; the brochure (available at local churches and Tourist Info) is also available as a download. A selection of pictures from many of the flower festivals can also be seen throughout the Diary pages for 2013.

The Palm Sunday Service started at 10:45am at the parish church of St Mary & St Nicolas. The procession from Holland Market on the flyer was cancelled due to the inclement weather.
