Information from the censuses

In 1911 Thomas Maxted's family lived at 1 Montford Place, Kennington. His parents were both Lambeth-born and both in 1862. George Maxted (Senior) was a bricklayer. Their children included

George Maxted (Junior), 24, a general labourer

David Maxted, 20, also a general labourer

John Maxted, 16, a basket maker

Selina Maxted, 18

Charles Maxted 13

All were born in Lambeth.

Thomas Maxted was not present on the night of the 1911 census but he appears with his family on the 1901 at the same address. He was at that time 22. Possibly he was away at sea and missed the census for that reason.

I have linked this name tenatively with this serviceman because although there was a Thomas Maxted living in the area in 1911 I have no information linking A.B. Thomas Maxted with Kennington.
