In 1911, Alfred Cecil Burridge was living with his mother, Esther Felpts, 58, and stepfather, John Felpts, 54, a beerhouse keeper, at 55 Cauldwell Street, Bedford. He gave his occupation as "labourer (boiler house)”. Alfred was the youngest of six children. His father, a mineral water manufacturer, died in the year of his birth. Esther died in 1912. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission gives his next of kin as his brother, Thomas Burridge, who lived at 44 Magdalane Street, Glastonbury, Somerset. Alfred lived in Kennington and enlisted in Bedford.
