Sidney Fendall does not appear on the 1901 census, although there were two men named John Fendall in the Lambeth Workhouse in Renfrew Road:

John Fendall, 71, a widowed general labourer, born in Lambeth

John Fendall, 77, a widowed sweep, born in Lambeth

Most of the other Fendalls were in the West and North Ridings of Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Gloucestershire, Lancashire, Derbyshire and Surrey.
