In 1911 Francis Baker, then aged 26, was working as a clerk for a leather manufacturer and living his parents and two brothers at 16 Aldred Street, where they shared six rooms. This road, which was off St. Agnes Place, has now disappeared. Francis’s father, George Baker, 49, a marble mason, was born in Lambeth; his mother, Sarah Harriet, 49, was also from Lambeth. Francis married Emma Elizabeth Baker, who later gave her address as 20 Liston Road, Clapham Old Town, some time after 1911.
