In 1901 Frederick Admans was a 13-year-old telegraph messenger, living at 10, Myrtle Villas, Tivoli Road, Margate with his family. His father, George, was a 41-year-old bill poster, native to Margate, and his mother Caroline, 40, was from Exmouth in Devon. Seven children, all born in Margate, were registered on the census:
