Oh! Dear Radha, come let us proceed
See ! Lord Krishna has arrived
See there, he is swinging on the swing.
Radha:
Even I want to join him on the swing.
Mayuria:
Yes , Yes
Let us all go together
And dance the "Raas" dance
of love between the Lord and devotee.
See even the Gops (men) have come.
Come let us all join and dance together.

Sakhis:
The Lord ‘Gopala’ is swinging in the spring,
Dear Radha also swings in love with Him.
The Gops* and Gopis
Together dance the ‘Raas’ dance
Relate the pranks of ‘Kanha’
Lord smiles and looks askance.
"Close your eyes”, says The Lord
In a bid to outsmart
“But we can still see you O’ Lord
As you dwell in our heart”
* Gops = Male cowherd
Note: Gopala, Shyam, Kanha, Krishna are all names of
the same Lord Krishna.

Oh! Nisha, Mohini, Basanti, Fulvariya, Mayuria, come here indeed.
See how Radha is sitting silly. Lost in thoughts of the Lord.
Song 2 : I will search for Him (Dhundoongi mein)
Radha:
I will ask
Of a thousand clouds
And search for my
Loving Lord divine. ||1||
I will ask
Of the forest cuckoo
And call in sweet
Plaintive songs to Him ||2||
I will cross
Mountains, ravines, streams
And no sooner I find
In my heart I’ll hide Him. ||3||

Oh! Bindiya
What are you all "sakhis" doing there
Trying to hide away from me
Come here; come in front of me...
Bindiya:
We are watching,
How you are lost in the thoughts of
"Kanha", the Lord
You don't even know what is happening
around you.
Radha:
How can one remain conscious of one's surroundings.
When my heart is pining to hear the divine notes of the Lord's flute
Oh! Sakhi, tell me
When will the divine notes fill the air?

Radha:
Oh! Sakhi, tell me
When will sound the flute divine?
I am filled with longing
My heart for Him pines,
The clouds rumble
I seek a hiding place
I get all soaked though
In the showers of grace
The Gops and Gopis have come
To Jamuna river banks
They recount to each other
The Lord's loving pranks
Adoring eyes of the cows
Are with tears brimming
When divine flute plays
All in 'Gokul'* go dancing.
Oh! Sakhi see at last
The divine flute He's playing.
I am filled with love,
My heart to Him is praying.
*Gokul = The place where Lord Krishna lived
