A first glimpse of the nest's juvenile woodpecker!
The photo immediately below shows the male great spotted woodpecker (in the hole) and the female outside their nesting chamber. The chamber would have been made this year, and is in one of the ash trees near to the Metford Road allotments entrance.

Nest box 11 is located in an oak tree next to the shared pedestrian and cycle path - where the yellow star is in the map below.
