Birds on Redland Green

Local photographer, Michael Owen, has taken some beautiful photographs of birds seen on Redland Green. You can see them here.

Redland Green Community Group has put up bird nesting boxes around the Green. You can read about the boxes and the species they cater for, see maps showing where each of the boxes is, and see our logs showing which boxes have been used to rear young birds here.

If you see evidence of birds using the nest boxes, we are keen to hear from you. Email birds@rgcg.org.uk with news of your sightings.

Thanks to generous sponsorship from a local bird-loving donor, we put up a new nesting box at the beginning of May, bringing the total number of nesting boxes in Redland Green to 21.

The new box has been located in the Dell, a prime area for nesting, due to the abundant vegetation.

Smaller birds, such as blue tits and great tits will use boxes such as this one.
